Suns playing well. They beat the Clips on the road without Nash AND Hill.

Pretty sure Lin was focusing on scoring when Melo and Amare was out. Now that they are back he doesn't have to score much.

Have you seen the guys that Wall and Jennings have played with? There is a reason why those two have to shoot.

He isn't showing anybody how to do anything -- they're never televised.

Too bad he is wasting his talents on a team that is going nowhere fast.

How many dribbles until it's not considered an assist anymore? I noticed some his passes led to a dribble and pull up jumper in the paint.

Hes an elite passer but geeze some of those "assists recorded" are just bogus, one dribble miracle shot by Dudley (2nd made FG in the video) is an assist? Lol SMH

As opposed to the offensive dynamos Nash is playing with now?

I wish he worn a Rocket uniform. Damn, the guy just keeps playing at a high level. Unreal!

I always thought that you were allowed only 1 dribble for it to be counted as an assist.

I think you are unintentionally overrating Lin in several ways here.

I bet he'll play at an elite level until he's 40 and be a role player until hes 42. He seems like the type of player who just loves the game and would play even a bench role to mentor young players. Sort of like Darrell Armstrong who played with the Mavs in a player/coach role until he was 39.

Agreed, Dudley held onto the ball for awhile. That's weird. Maybe it wasn't considered an assist but the person who made the video left it in.

I was talking about Lin not Steve Nash.

He's a pass-first point, I didn't say he was a great, or even good one. I don't think anyone can dispute the fact that he is a pass-first point, or at least to a greater degree than someone like Jennings.

For me, every time I see Wall play, I see him looking to score first, than getting passes to people if it fails, while Nash and Lin are looking to set people off from the get-go---kinda like the Iverson effect. Iverson had a point where he was racking up s***loads of assists as well.

of course, that is super subjective. Maybe Wall was a bad choice, but my assertion still stands for guys like Jennings, Lou Williams, Devin Harris, Irving etc.

You know, you don't have to crap over other good players to make your point.

Besides, there are times where the PG is the best scorer and him taking more shots is actually great for the team. In some cases, it could be the thing that pushes them into the finals.

I'm not saying they're bad players necessarily, just that they don't have a good mentality in my opinion. That doesn't really even have that much to do with them, but the culture of NBA basketball as a whole---from beautiful, team-based play, to selfish me-me-me ball. That is a trend I deplore.

funny thing is wall actually looks to set up people before scoring but unfortunately, his team is so bad they need his scoring. most of his scoring opportunities come in transition

he's only had 4 20+ FGA games this season. he's been top 10 in assist for 2 years straight.

in a 3 game stretch during the lin streak, lin had 23, 24, and 20 FGA. lin was a combo guard during the lin streak and is now taking a diminished role.

you can set up players and score. it's not either or.
