Its been a weird year and Parsons just came in this season and hit the ground running. Morris had a lot of things going against him. He's working on playing the 3. Little practice time with the team in the offseason while Parsons played in France. Parsons is also a glue guy and doesn't need the ball in his hands which is what the Rox need to make the playoffs. Morris, not so much. He needs touches and we can't afford that unless we're the Bobcats.

Parsons has found his niche. Morris has yet to find his but that doesn't make him a less talented player.

So they spent a lotto pick on a player they figured would suck?

So you must hate Scola, Bud, and K-Mart then. Hell the team as a whole some nights.

Bottom line the guy needs game time to see what he can do, in reality maybe better served as a four. But you gotta find out before you ship him out.

A personal story since it is a small audience. In the late 80's I was sitting in a corporate box behind home plate when a wicked grounder was hit to the Astro's 3rd baseman. Forgot his name - he married a prominent and beautiful actress. The ball took an ugly hop and hit him dead center just below the rib cage. He picked the ball up off the ground and threw the runner out at first base. He then collapsed, having all of the wind knocked out of him and it took him almost a minute to get off of the ground. My wife looked at me and stated that she could not believe that he had just done that. My reply was " for X million a year you make that play."

Coaching my wife in softball after that I brought up that story. She never ever let a ball get past her at second base. But she was wacked a number of times in unfortunate spots.

    Good memories.

    .....Cool story bro??

Anyways, I'm relieved Morey has pulled through yet again. Although I really liked Parsons as a college player, I felt we needed some length on this team in the front court. Glad we got ourselves a great all around player in Parsons.

We'll agree to disagree nothing wrong with that. At end of the day everyone is a fan of the team.

The one question I did not answer was my opinion of Scola, Bud and KMart. I actually was livid about them in the rotations they were playing in. IMHO in the NBA you can get away with strong offensive players at certain positions if you have strong defensive players surrounding them. Therefore Dally, Scola, Bud, KMart and Lowry was always going to be a disaster. However Dally, Scola, Parsons, KMart and Lowry is probably going to work against most opposing line ups.

Numerous line up permutations there. Foremost in the line up of pain was any one that featured Scola at the 5.

You will get zero argument from me on that one.

Didn't Jeff Bagwell initially place third base?

So I just saw this thread and the first post made me laugh. Since when has Budinger become a "solid SF?" Also, hindsight is 20/20, but I am very happy with the CP pick.

And once again we see CF salivating over some young tall guy, and freak out when we don't pick him... only for said tall guy to show nothing. It was Hassan Whiteside and Daniel Orton before, and now Jeremy Tyler.

Is it me or are Kawhi Leonard and Parsons pretty identical?

No Ken Camminiti. That Astros lineup those years in the 90's was so stacked. Too bad Cam was a douche. I met him as a kid at an Oshman's Sporting Goods store one day and he was a complete dick to me and my brother. Anyways, not bitter, RIP Ken Camminiti. Cocaine, steroids, and alot of alcohol = drug overdose.

Ken Camminiti, the original Kenny Powers.

Not really. Leonard will end up being a much more defensive minded player even though Parsons has busted his tail on defense this year, and Parsons has always been able to be a point-forward type on offense.

Im kind of a college hoops nut, and watched the guy play alot at Florida. He is a great passer, and facilitator. Not the flashiest passer in the league, but he just does a great job of initiating offensive sets.

If the Rockets feel comfortable enough going super small in the future, I think you might see them implement some of the corner sets that Adelman used to run last year so we can get Bud, Martin, Lee some open layups.

That probably couldn't be run until next year though. Parsons, and possibly Montiejunas(another really good passer) will be able to run that offense if McHale so chooses.

Anyways, I really, really like Leonard, but him and Parsons are going to end up being completely different players. I see Leonard more along the lines of a Gerald Wallace type IMO. As if the Spurs need more good players. Puke.

I am seriously considering betting a large sum of money on the exact opposite of what you post... I have never seen anyone so consistently wrong.. It is actually impressive.

REEKO were you at? you wanted to draft Jeremy Tyler at 23?
    http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=204145&page=7

I guess its safe to say Morey wont be drafting Knuckle heads just because they are Tall or talented(T-will)anymore. Let this be a lesson learned for all of us for the next draft.

One year Morey should allow Clutchfans a "fan pick" in the 2nd round. Les will fork over the 2 MM it takes to buy a pick, and a poll will be provided and Morey will take whoever the fans think is best. I wonder who they would pick. My guess is they would choose someone like this.
