Ok. fine with me. The rest of the statement holds true. Morey is not good at his job so far. Good is making the Rockets a perennial playoff team at least. A team that has a direction or star player for the fans to watch.
Thank GAWD !!! Your Apologies for the organization are getting out of hand. You need to whipe that stuff off your chin son ! DD
We can also debate that Scola was sulking because his numbers went down after the trade rumors. He just handled it with better class than the the rest of the players did.
By saying "numbers went down after the trade rumors", you mean his numbers since the very start of the season is lower than last season right?
If you can come back with a better reason on why Scolas numbers went down right after the trade fell through? Then you can win that conversation. Since you stopped talking. I have the best reason his numbers went down. He was almost traded and he had a new coach he might not have liked as much. Which is sulking a bit. If it happened to Martin for the same reasons? Nothing leads me to believe Scola wouldnt also have his numbers dip for the same exact reason.
So it had nothing to do with a new coaching staff, new players, extended offseason, and playing back into shape? Cool, thanks for the info.
Your trolling has been out of hand for much much longer. You have always had opinions that although outlandish in nature usually added insight, evaluation, and I respected. But for the past year or so you have had nothing positive to add to the board. Only whining, complaining, and blaming Les/Morey/ or whoever you were throwing darts at that week instead of rooting for your team and showing them support. You single handily added so much negativity to the board that you agitated the best poster on the board(BimaThug) off with your benal arguments that you recycle, flip flop, and manipulate to best serve whatever argument would stir up the most controversy on the board. How many games have you been to this year? You obviously dont care for the Rockets anymore, but stirring controversy and mixing it up on here still gets your kicks on. Its time to Move on, and root for another team if you hate the Rockets so bad.
But I love them. Just not Morey. Les Alexander is proven to me. Morey is not. Thats how I roll. Morey is no wonder boy to me until I have something to be in wonder of and in AWE!!!!! Am I in awe of anything Morey has done? Looks at Fisher and Camby? Not really.
After half of a season? Wow. I thought both guys was under contract. BTW one day maybe Rox will figure out he may best served as a stretch 4 off the bench. JMO
Kevin Durant averaged 30.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.4 steals in 2009-10, he averaged 27.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1 steal in 2010-11. His FG% and 3PT% also dropped. Why is that? There are no reports that he was unhappy, there are no reports that he was being traded. Speaking of that, a lot of players are not as good this year as they are last year. Are they all sulking? Oh, Scola is 31 by the way. Oh he also had surgery on his knees this off-season.
The only players Morey tries to lowball are his own restricted FA's. Landry , Brooks , Lowry come to mind. He was willing to pony up the $$ for Bosh and DH12. Gasol wouldnt have come cheap. He also tried multile times to land CP3 .... who had afat contract - dangling a max money extension.
Someone is a little defensive. I don't remember anyone saying anything bad about Houston and I started this thread.
He doesn't even really "low ball" the restricted agents, he matches the best deal they can find anywhere else. Which means he pays market value for them and exactly what they were going to get if they left. More often than not, it is the people who disapprove of Morey who tend to expect him to be a "god" or "genius" and conjure up superstars when none are available. Every GM in the league is "insensitive" at one point or another. How many championships did Fisher help the Lakers win, and they basicly let him go just to save a bit of luxary tax. Gasol was on the trading blocks all season too. Do you think no player is going to want to play for the Lakers now? Sure individual players might hold a grudge against teams that traded them or let them go, but no matter what team they go to next, that team has done the same thing to someone else.
Of course you are right , i was just making the point that this orginization isnt cheap / Willing to pay stars top $$$.
I think you guys are looking too much into the amenities. Its not like The Rockets are flying coach or staying in a motel 6. It's money then opportunity to win or vice versa depending on the player. The idea of signing a superstar outright is absurd right now. Why would they sign with a mediocre team when they could get the same money from a team ready to contend? This is why the Rockets are so intent on just being a low seeded playoff team until we can trade for a star. That way, they are locked into a deal already and can help attract another star. The only problem is getting other teams to value our assets enough to trade with us. Basically, my sig says it all.
First class players get first class treatment. it's one thing to fix up a locker room and plane for a superstar or two but why would you invest your money on role players? You think a superstar player isn't going to get whatever he wants when he's here? T-Mac got some $5,000 high chair and Yao got custom fitness equipment. The players you are worried about signing here look at the $$$ first and the locker room second. They know that they can get what they want after they sign. Players do t get on a plane or step in a locker room to critique the furnishings like its queer eye. The get on the plane, put thier Dre beats on and play on their iPads. People need to stop having such low self esteem. We are a first class city with a first class orginazation. Players have rejected us because they found more competitive teams to play on, not because the plane doesn't have a ****ing paint job.
The other "desirable" cities can all be associated with money, rich people, night life, etc. While Houston has all that, I think we're probably considered more of a blue collar city...not an exciting place for 25yr old multi-millionaires to play and live.
