Alex Smith is having nightmares about Peyton Manning choosing the 49ers, so he is visiting Miami and considering changing agents since he has the same one as Manning. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7...sco-49ers-visiting-miami-dolphins-source-says
Manningham had a down year, but dude can ball. Moss, if he's happy, can probably still give you 900. If they get Manning, it will be nutty.

Worst case scenario: Smith leaves, Peyton rejects and we are left with Kaepernick (4th pick in the 2nd round 1 year ago) as QB, an elite defense, a great rushing game and a ton of cap. Roll the dice. 49ers all in. Besides I doubt Smith to Dolphins will even happen. They seem too high on Flynn.
IMO, nobody wants Alex Smith except the 49ers. He still has the "bust" smell on him. I'm curious what he would get in the open market if Peyton chooses SFO.
i'm even more curious as to what will happen if peyton chooses denver, and smith signs with dolphins. vince young or brandon wheedon to 9ers? can't believe randy moss of all people would sign somewhere without a qb in place. gotta believe that manning ends up in san fran with moss and manningham signing and smith talking to miami. sure is interesting though.
To be fair. The 49ers as a team were pretty bad those past years. Bad O-line, bad WRs, bad OCs/coaches. Sucks Alex decided to stick with crap and now he's being thrown out as crap. But Peyton and that championship caliber team (with upgrades in their WRs)
Smith must be pissing his pants right now. He needs harbaugh and that niners team much more than they need him.
True, but there have been several QBs who have overcame the short comings of the rest of the team. It's convenient to throw blame on everyone else, but better than average QB would've elevate that team more so than Smith was able to do. Even this season, he was very much on the game-managing side of the things.
incarceratedbob is a totally non-credible joker. He makes wild guesses ahead of time hoping to be right, but he's usually wrong.
