http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/rockets_add_experience_draft__2012_03_15.html Here's Jason Friedman's article on the trades, and a video of Morey talking about them. It also contains an interesting quote from Zach Harper at SI.com: Not sure if the Rockets will simply play at the same level now with Dalembert off the court-- sometimes the team needs to go small either to open up the offense or to match up againt the opposition. Still, this should help give the team a significant # of quality minutes when Sammy D sits with foul trouble or ineffectiveness (he goes into hibernation from time to time).
yea he is don't underestimate morey "an item of value owned" "something useful in an effort to foil or defeat an enemy" http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/asset
Camby pleased to land with Rockets through trade http://www.nba.com/2012/news/03/16/rockets-camby.ap/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt2
Wow - so nice to have somebody who wants to be here, and isn't a scrub. Why didn't Camby request to come here earlier, when we needed a center desperately??
I'm with McHale on this. I kinda new that already. But I am glad Morey adressed it. Camby is better than Dalembert defensively. This allows Scola to play more minutes.
Welcome Marcus. Nice to have someone that WANTS to be here! Too bad it wasn't 5 years ago, but hey, Deke provided some value at the twilight of his career...
Yep. $9,256,500, according to this link: http://hoopshype.com/salaries/houston.htm But his contract expires at the end of this year, so the Rockets are going to have to try and resign him. Clearly, his salary at this point of his career should be angling downwards, not upwards. In any case, it will be interesting to see how that salary negotiation plays out over the off-season.
How much do yall think he's worth at this point? I think he's probably going to sign for around 4 million for 4 years, with the 4th year being an opt.
There's zero chance he gets a four year deal. He's still a very mobile center, but he would be 42 by the end of that contract. From now on, it's probably one year deals for him.
BINGO! I totally feel the same way! Its great to have a guy who has lived here since 2005 and actually embraces the city of Houston. Camby might not be an impact player with the Sammy/Camby combo at Center, we look much stronger as a playoff team. Wish we could draft a player n develope him into a superstar to grow with this team for years to come.
