We actually do need him to do relatively well if we are to make a playoff push

Courtney has a lot of off days on offense to be honest.

That's Feigen speculating on his blog, not reporting news based on sources in the league. He might be right but I don't see why it has much more value than anything a random poster says on ClutchFans.

Also, he didn't say quite what you said he did. You're twisting his words a bit.

I can't remember who said that.... I guess it was Chris Mannix on 610 Radio....
I am not going to go back to pre-trade because the organization is not high on Martin anymore no matter how you want to turn it.

I don't understand why you value him so high... he never led us to the playoffs ..that was Lowry and other guys. He is just another Adelman player and Adelman is gone. I value defense more than just scoring with that being said.

These teams do not advertise players physical status for good reasons. Give him time to rest, and then work him back into the rotation. Simple as that. We now have a coach that is not going to take **** from anybody. At worst we flip him over the summer for a second rounder. He only cost us Landry. And no freaking bo-hoos from all the Landry lovers. Realistically Landry is just a rotation cog.

And then who knows - he might get physically and emotionally right (if he indeed was ever emotionally wrong) and be good for 20 points a game again.

Like that is important because I twisted 5 percent of 100 percent of what he said. I don't really care about him.......Why you are defending a well paid millionaire who never put Rockets before the Coach

I am just curious.... does not matter what was posted before.
I think there is no argument.... I suspect you like the guy on the Rockets, I am just meh but I want his 12 million contract off the books. That is the most important thing to me personally.

Martin is having a bad year but he has historically been a valuable SG. I don't like to see solid value just thrown away in exchange for nothing. If you bench him or dump him at the first opportunity you're wasting value. I think he should be traded if possible in the offseason or next year's deadline at the latest but we need to try to get something solid back for him. He's a career 18.7 PER player for crying out loud.

He injured his non-shooting hand and will wear a splint but won't miss any time.

Then why are worried.... He is still here........
PER is an offensive based stat... does not show his weaknesses on defenses, those are detrimental to the starting line up with Scola in it.

But unlike Martin I watch Scola battle through things, getting stomped on by Love, and never sought for excuses.
That is the type of mentality of a leader even if he is not an elite talent.

Everyone has weaknesses, even the best player Lebron.

It doesn't matter because it's on McHale to play him. I've been hard on Martin, even with the knowledge of the refs watching him, and he deserves the blame for doing nothing when his shot is not falling. However McHale and the whole coaching staff do not seem to know how to use him. Martin should be our sixth man, just coming in firing away - similar to how the nuggets used abdul-rauf in 94-95.

Kevin Martin is the most efficient scorer we have on this team. That hasn't changed. What has changed is the way Mchale uses him. To not take advantage of Martin's abilities when he is on the floor is poor coaching. He may be annoyed by Mchale a bit. But he is certainly no Melo Yellow or TMac.

He just lost the best coach he had and he is dealing with it and feeling a little frustrated. That's normal. But make no mistake about it Martin is still an elite scorer given the opportunity. And he will remain that way for a few years to come.

He works as hard as anyone to improve his game every offseason. Even his defense has improved albeit still a weakness though not as much as most on this board cry about. It's just that with Scola and Budinger on the court you really need an elite defender at the the 2. That he is not. Courtney Lee is.

But with the emergence of Parsons and Camby being added you can afford to play Martin more minutes.

The biggest problem is we are 12 deep. We are logjammed at every position. Someone has to sit. With Parsons playing better on offense you can afford to play Lee more. Plus Lee is stepping up his offense too. And Martin is legitimately injured so that is effecting his game.

A lot of teams still want Martin. I can assure you Minny, LAC, Magic, would have jumped on him if he had a contract more like Lowry's. And I guarantee you Martin will have some takers come next trade deadline. When you consider he is a talented 2 with a big expiring contract. Who knows maybe that is why Morey kept him. Maybe Morey understands this Howard situation didn't get solved just postponed and next trade deadline Howard will be stuck in the same dilemna and Martin along with some of our young talent and draft picks next year will get the deal done this time.
