Why don't Houston signed Oden and bet on the future. He's going to be back next year...so. Never hurt to try right?

For sure our interior defense will improve but I'm not sure about the perimeter defense.

it is a very sad day.. we no longer have Thabeet to make fun of, in chat, during the games. No more.....
"Garbage time! Watch Thabeet foul out in 2 minutes"
    He will be missed :(

How old is Camby?? I could look it up, but for fun I'd like to take a guess. I will say he's 35?

F*** it. I'll be rooting for this team to make the playoffs. F*** our 1st rounder. Get to the playoffs and make some f***ing noise Rockets. If we get embarrassed in the 1st round, I will be completely disappointed with this season.

Damn. That's a high mileage vehicle we just bought. Hope the engine runs good for a couple years.

[rquoter]The Rockets send Portland guard Jonny Flynn, center Hasheem Thabeet and a second-round pick the team acquired in a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Camby, 38, makes his offseason home in Houston.

"He's always been very positive about the Rockets organization," said Rick Kaplan, Camby's agent, in an interview with FOX 26 Sports.

"He's really excited about the opportunity to come to a team that's fighting for a playoff spot, has a lot of upside. Obviously, he's sad to leave Portland, great fans up there. He enjoyed his two years there and really was very close to his teammates, which is sort of his trademark.

'"For a long time he's said if he was going to go anywhere, he would want it to be Houston. So it's a happy day for him."[/rquoter]

I was going to say Camby reminds me of Mutombo. Great pick up. Fisher, not so much, but the 1st round pick was good. I hope we buyout Fisher, and he never wears red.

I was just thinking the same thing. We got Mutombo when he was 68 years old and he helped us out a lot for what 4 years?

That was news to me about Camby having a home in Houston and wanting to play here. I was very happy with this trade before, and I always liked the guy but this makes me look forward to him being on our team a little more. I've got a feeling he's going to contribute.

I'm guessing he's about half as good now than he was at his prime, but just like Mutombo, he could still be a big part of our team for as long as we can muster out of him.

Finally got a chance to read every post.

I'm happy about this trade. You trade two players who never played (sorta) for a guy that will play, and give you good minutes. Glad to have another player over 7 feet tall, that can protect the rim. I know he's old, and been around the block and all, and I can't really say I've seen any Portland games, but I'm sure he's still a good defender.

Two dead weights for a dead corpse that can still play, i'm in.

No offense. I cringe every time Dalembeart takes a shot more than 5 feet away from the basket.

Cool, didn't know he had a home here... in Pearland?.>>>Lol, after looking up "Camby, Houston home" I came across this
    http://blogs.houstonpress.com/hairballs/2011/09/nbas_marcus_camby_arrested_for.php
"Police officials say officers pulled over Camby's black Porsche around midnight on when he was spotted driving north on Cullen Boulevard with a sun screen device blocking the front window."
How high you gotta be to drive with the sunshade still up?? Too funny.
Anyway, glad he's here, and even more glad he's glad to be here.
Plus I get more opportunities to scream "Get That ***** Outta Here!!" during games :D
