I think it was to pursue Dwight but then he committed to the Orlando Magic for at least another season at the very last minute so...
Lol there is nothing we were willing to trade better than Monta for Bogut. We don't know how credible some media sources were. I highly doubt we were a frontrunner for Bogut. Lets get real, the Bucks got a better player than anything we could have possibly been willing to offer.
Or maybe we just didn't want to commit to an often injured C? Frankly, we've been down that painful road already. Why put ourselves into the cycle again? Perhaps Milwaukee wanted too much for him, and so we bailed to pursue Camby? In the end, they got Ellis - which is a better single piece than we could offer.
I don't know if the GoodGuys could have (or even should have) pulled off Rent-A-FlipFlop but the timing of deals makes GSW's willingness to seal-the-deal enviable. I suspect that had Jerry Logo West imprimatur. I applaud them for getting done what they wanted to get done.
I agree with this. If you would offer Lowry or a huge package of assets/picks (Motiejunas, Knicks pick, etc) for Bogut then I just think that's nuts. Morey's offer was fair.
Camby's a 7ft that's expiring and we got pick (and sorry Fisher) out the 09 busts and a not so good 2nd rd pick. Low risk/ potential medium reward. Typical morey move.
I think it was Dwight but he saw we were in a bidding war with NJ, the Orlando fans were putting him under alot of pressure he just didn't want to be Lebron and he damn sure didn't want to risk coming here!
