These trades were the equivalent of turning scrap metal into 2 dollar bills.

What I like most about the Camby deal is that he is a grizzled "Veteran" with playoff experience. McHale needs someone to help re-inforce his ideals and get these young guns to focus.

We also have an enforcer that will rally this team when the going gets tough. He doesn't just bring his individual talent, he'll make the other parts better.

Hill is not better than Camby, I don't even know how you could come to that conclusion.

And Flynn is not better than Fisher, that's even more ridiculous, in fact it doesn't even matter anyways our target was the pick not Fisher.

How the hell did we downgrade by going from mid 2nd rounder to a first rounder?

This is some insane logic you are throwing around. I don't even know how to come about understanding what your concern is.

The Camby deal fortified our frountcourt without sacrificing any cap flexibility moving forward so I don't see a downside to it. We now have two legitimate seven footers in Dalembert and Camby that can protect the rim and rebound the basketball at the cost of two useless players.

The Fisher trade seems to be the equivalent to buying a first round pick. We gave up a little cap space next season by relinquishing Hill's contract but I think the pick is worth it. Fisher fills the short term need of a backup PG and I can see him being bought out at seasons end.

It wasn't a blockbuster deadline by any stretch of the imagination but both moves made sense and improved the team.

    B. Nothing major but we did improve all around

    Camby > Hill and Thabeet
    Fisher > Flynn
    1st rnd pick > 2nd rnd pick

I'm officially in as a D now as it seems as if nothing else was done.

Not an F, because the two trades made were "passing" grades, but not average or above average in my opinion.

With the assets we had to make a trade, which were a lot more than most teams in the NBA, we should have done better this trade deadline.

I gave it a B. Camby is a big improvement over Thabust and Hill. And Fisher and a #1 is better than Flynn and a #2. Gaining veteran presence will be big in the playoffs. And Fisher can hit a big three or two when needed. We don't have the right type of SG or SF to pair him with (he is used to having Kobe dominate the ball... no one here that can assume that role). And defensively his age and lack of speed is really exposed.

That said, we traded three of the players I like least on the team, so getting one player back I dislike isn't too bitter (even if that player is Fisher).

    I give it a B...

Can someone go through the timeline of how we got flynn, thabeet, hill, 2nd rd pick in first place and what we got now?

I think that will put this deadline into perspective. Thanks.

Flynn: Throwin from Minny in Montejunas deal (we also traded Brad Miller, the 23rd pick and Memphis' 1st)

Thabeet: Throwin in Battier for 1st deal (1st traded in Montejunas deal)

Hill: Got him for a barely playing Tracy McGrady. Also got a couple of firsts.

    2nd round pick: Who cares

Okay, I'd still take Camby+Fisher over that.

You cant grade a trade right after it happens. All you are going to get is knee jerk reactions.

It's a pick from the Lakers/Mavs, why would it not be a late pick by default.

    Pretty sure everyone knows that.

Most of you would have only given Morey an A if he landed Dwight Howard.

If we re-sign Dragic at 5 mil, I'm OK with that.

    Lowry & Dragic= 11Mil
    Deron Williams + Scrub = 20 Mil

Lowry being sick and the Dwight saga screwed up a lot of things.
