    Good. If not just bench him. Crap FISHER HAS A PLAYER OPTION for $3.4 million next season.

    IF WE BUY HIM OUT THIS SEASON WILL HE STILL BE ON THE BOOKS NEXT YEAR?

    Honestly they're a Dirk injury away from the lottery.

    Effectively this replaces our pick that we're sending to NJ. A 'low playoff' pick.

    The crazy constraints on the pick make it so that dallas really wants to trade back for the pick or else their hands are tied in terms of future trades. it makes sense. basically the pick is worth way more than it initially appears, especially if dallas does not finish in the top 10.

    What exactly is wrong with that? Trading an expiring for a pick and what could turn out to be a de facto expiring...seems like a no-risk, low-reward move, sure, but that's at least a smart move, if not impactful.

    Not really. With East/West disparity, if Dallas makes the playoffs we will cash in on the pick this year. Should be worth pretty much exactly the pick we surrender to New Jersey (within 1-2 picks)

    Two old players. The expiring contract we got was for two expiring contracts already. Top 20 protected draft pick from Mavericks who will never be lower than than the top 20 teams ion the NBA. Did we actually even make or move or is this a cleverly disguised looks like a move but really isnt from Morey? Looks like a fake out to me.

    Not a fan of DFish, but he's a decent vet who probably won't cause any problems in the locker room. We need another PG while Lowry is out. Jordan Hill wasn't coming back. Be interesting to see how he does in L.A.

    Derek will bring needed veteran leader ship and that first round pick is nice. At derek's age i doubt he's going to opt in for his player option so he is an expiring. He's 3pt shot isn't that bad so he can come in to back up dragic while lowry's out. Good trade.
