I'd consider Thabeet and Flynn more like pocket lint rather than "assets".

Guys, this is absolutely a no lose situation. We traded some bench riders for Marcus Camby, who will not only immediately make a positive impact on our defense, but might even compete with Dalembert for the starting Center spot. We still have a 1st round pick in the deep 2012 draft, and the cap space to bring in a star player in the off season. But more importantly, we improved our overall team THIS YEAR. Guys, the NBA is all about match-ups. And if the Rockets get in the playoffs as the 8th seed and play OKC with Lowry back from the injury list and a rejuvinated Kevin Martin who doesn`t have to worry about being traded and can revert to old form, we have a chance to beat the number one title contenders and make a playoff run of our own I CAN`T F`N WAIT!! LETS GO ROCKETS!!! WWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

We have developing youth already. Morris and Parsons. If Morris develops, he is basically like drafting a lottery pick last year. And Parsons is legit.

We have already started rebuilding. We just happen to be doing it with a team that is actually good and competetive!

apparently we traded Jordan Hill for a first round pick from the Lakers via Dallas and Derek Fisher.

This is an outstanding move; I like Camby much more than Kaman for this team; he doesn't need shots, is an excellent weakside help defender and rebounder, and we can finally stop playing Scola at the 5. The 2nd rounder is a small price to pay, and the Rockets probably have an excellent shot of resigning Camby after the season to a vet-min deal, since he's a Houston guy. This is adding a guy who can play 20 good minutes for two guys who are out of the rotation.

    A+ Deal.

Contracts are irrelevant since they all expire. What this does is sets us up as front runners to sign Camby for another couple of seasons (he should be fairly effective that much longer). That is very much worth a second round pick, considering they are always readily available for cash purchase on draft night (if we want one).

Plus Dallas' 1st round pick, which was traded to LA, that's the kicker.

I don't think this is a moneyball move. The team is better. The D is better, and we got rid of two awfull players
