At worst, we'll have a good backup center for the next couple years (when we re-sign him to a lower cap hit).

I don't understand Morey's attachment to Kevin Martin. Maybe he'll be gone in the next 25 minutes. (Doubt it.) Or just amnesty him and re-sign Courtney Lee.

Are people really that excited about adding a 37 y.o center which will cause us to go to the playoffs and lose in the first round.

    This team has no future!

That wasn't really our problem though, Scola pretty much owns the paint, we just needed someone who will protect and hit an open jumper. Camby can do that.

    Jonathan Feigen ‏ @Jonathan_Feigen

Camby has lived in area for years, has wanted to play here. Is in last season of contract. Indication of hopes for playoff push for Rockets.

Rockets still working phones, hoping to do more.

And for you homer's that are excited about his expiring contracts.....we traded expiring contracts to get him so we would have had the same cap space.

This is a short term benefit that doesn't hurt the long term flexibility, it's the textbook definition of rebuilding whiles getting better.

In all fairness, a guy off the street could do it just as well as Flynn has.

My thinking exactly -- It would have been nice to combine this one with a trade of Hill for, say, a pick in the next draft.

For Hasheem and Flynn its another not bad move but not overwhelmingly good. I guess the extra cash is gonna help Morey go hard after another free agent in the offseason. We get a serviceable big man over two scrubs. I would still like one more draft pick. This is just the bare minimum move.

Whoever. Flynn does nothing other than bring the ball up. We can live without him.
