I just want Morey to do something Pau or no Pau. Lowery is a good point guard why Pau doens't like Kyle.

    Trade Time

Does anyone remember last year and the year before when we found out about the trades the Rockets made? I think the Martin/McGrady trade was at the deadline but don't really remember the Battier/Thabeet trade time.

I think the Battier/Thabeet along with Brooks/Dragic were announced at the deadline.

I don't think Pau has ever said he doesn't like Kyle...he's just prefer to play with Kobe or Rose. Not surprising...not even a little bit surprising.

I don't care about his comments now because he doesn't know anything about Houston so I don't blame him. Why are people so mad that he'd rather contend with the Bulls?

Get over yourselves people. It's not like he said Houston sucks.

    I'd rather play with Kyle.

Tank-ass has my back in a fight.

Kobe or stache-boy? Not so much.

    Anticipation

Well that is a downer. Morey will probably stick to his MO and make some trade out of left field no one even knew about until 1:00pm Central Time that most will understand be it for the present or rebuilding...ish. Just hate the anticipation. I keep checking knowing nothing new will show up until after lunch time.

This. Quite frankly, it would concern me a lot if Pau Gasol did want to go to Houston. Gasol's desires are completely irrelevant - no idea why this board has a fixation on it.

    Forget Pau

Pau is good. Great actually but on the decline. You slow athletic decline with highter BBIQ and evolving skills. Don't see Gasol getting any more skills so he'll be "elite" for a couple more years at best but will be solid till he retires. The Bulls would be a great fit for him but as others have stated why would the Lakers want anything to do with Boozer? He disappers worse in the playoffs than Gasol ever has. He is undersized and plays significantly worse defense. This trade does not exist unless Luol Deng is in the mix which he ain't since the Bulls from sources don't want to mess up the nucleus. Let Pau go. He would be nice for the right price and attitude but he has proved he ain't worth it.

It is relevant. I would expect him to be at least indifferent about it and just accept it as part of the business and move on. Nobody wants a depressed player that could affect chemistry especially one that is known for letting emotions get in the way of the way he plays.

Do we really want to see Gasol half ass it every game. Might as well tank then.

I still remember how sad and crushed he was when the first trade was announced.

Great is an attribute to likes of Lebron, Kobe, possibly Durant and Rose.
Pau is pretty good...to very good.
I agree that Pau is not worth gutting our team for him. He is not elite IMO and may never be very good again.

Pau is a top 3 center in the NBA and he doesn't even play center. That's how good he is.

Yes, he is aging. Whoever trades for him is in "win now" mode. If we trade for him, you just have to accept that we are in "win now" mode. So there will be other moves made to compete for a championship.

I'm okay with a deal for Pau if we can't get Dwight or DWill. He's the next closest thing to a superstar player. He will play well and improve our team and he's still a tradable commodity. Dare I say, his trade value will go up after we acquire him and make him the focal point of our offense. All his numbers will go up, points, assists, rebounds, etc. His value will increase over the short-term. And if another superstar comes available over the next year or so, he will be a very attractive tradable piece.

Pau was a poor man's franchise player in Memphis, and that was on the right side of his peak. He's still very good, but he's not $19M good and he's clearly wired with a sidekick mindset. That's not worth building around, IMO.

We made that mistake already with Martin - your best player needs to be a true alpha dog, not a top tier second option.

Clear out the dead wood and reboot the system. Try to load up in the draft.

Mind you to wait 3 to 4 more hours to talk about this.
We could argue the whole day about how good Gasoft is and what team he fits or not. IMO I don't think he is great, just my opinion among tons of others

FWIW, the fans on the Lakers' board said that Pao's stats would look better if he played more C, and if Mike Brown had any specific sets for him on offense.

1st round and out with Pau. Exactly what we have now, except maybe 2 seeds higher.

There are 7 other centers I would take over him any day of the week, especially once you consider his salary and his "I don't want the pressures of being the man" mentality.

    Howard
    Love F/C
    Bynum
    Monroe
    Gortat
    M Gasol
    DeAndre Jordan
...and maybe Tyson Chandler, but that's a push

I think there's a real risk Gasol could go turdmonkey like Odom did. I also think that he benefits greatly by playing next to Bynum and side stepping full time low post banging.
