Why would the Lakers trade for a PG that can't play for 2 more weeks? They would be giving up on the season.

Well we could always add Kaman to be the back up center behind Dalembert so Gasol could play most of the 4 position.

I don't think most teams really care about his stomach bug, that is short-sighted/small potatoes compared to everything else.

Let's say, conservatively, Kyle comes back April 1st.

That's 9 games sans Kyle while they're 5 games ahead of 9th place.

That leaves 14 games with Kyle.

I'd hardly call that "giving up on the season".

Giving up on the season? They've been playing without a PG the whole season. Kobe will just take over Pau's shot attempts and Lowry would be ready to go in the playoffs.

I can't imagine being mad at Pau Gasol for NOT wanting to be traded from the Los Angeles Lakers.

I wouldn't mind Pau here anyways. Who wants to be traded to a team that is barely in the playoffs. He is a professional though and he would play hard.

Main reason why I don't want him here

He's one of those players that lets sulking affect his play. I'd rather have all the mediocrity in the world, then watching him half ass every single game because he doesn't want to be in Houston.

Why gamble on an aging player who doesn't give a shet anymore and has no more desire to compete.

Pau has certainly lacked consistency in the playoffs, including letting the situation with his girlfriend last year in the playoffs..... but he has also been the best player on the Lakers in key playoff games. He was absolute nails in the game winner against Boston a few years ago. He should have won Finals MVP and they would not have won without him.

    I disagree.

I think he'd pout, whine, and turtle like little b**ch.

In addition to getting his balls handed to him on a silver platter by every legit post player on our schedule.

I'd rather have Kyle playing center, at least he has some cajones.

Seriously, it makes zero sense to call Gasol names for not wanting to leave LA or for trying to pick where he is going to go if they dump him.

Professional sports teams have managed to blind most fans over the years. They've made the money these guys make public and it helps dehumanize them to fans. "He's making so much money, he should do what he's told!" The truth is the owners make significantly more money than these players and show less loyalty than the players do. But for some reason fans take the team's side.

Pau Gasol plays for the Lakers, a team that is almost guaranteed to compete every year because they are LA. He plays with one of the best players ever. Now they want to get rid of him and fans are mad that he doesn't want to leave? Particularly to go to perennial non-contenders like Houston that struggles to get stars? Makes no sense to me.

This is not just about CF
Gasol is a douche no matter what

He was a fantastic player, still is a very good one at times but once a Laker always a Faker.
