I doubt Derrick Williams comes to Houston if we offer Martin and the NY pick ... but you never know. Adelman is 'running the team' and he would love to have Martin + Bud back on his team.
(re: Feigin's Chron article today) We turned down a Bogut deal because we didn't want to give up Lee and Martin? Jeez...
Don't see the Jazz giving up Jefferson for so little. More realistic: I don't know how willing they'd be to part with Favors, or do a deal this comprehensive in general. Martin + Lowry for Jefferson seems like too much to give up, since Jefferson is a free agent after next season and is paid almost the max.
With the way Parsons is playing now I'd rather see him get the minutes and start. Unless Crash is willing to play off the bench I'd rather the Rockets get a multi-positional guy like Delfino who can cover backup minutes at PG while Lowry is out.
Epic udoh trade: We receive: Gasol, Morrow, Farmar, McRoberts, 4 first rounders!, Darius Morris and Petro. Lakers receive: Lowry, Humphries, Marcus Morris, Johnny Flynn, Jordan Hill, Stevenson, and Twill. Nets receive: Kevin Martin, Luis Scola, Matt Barnes, Steve Blake, Jason Kapono. Rocket Reasoning: Get Gasol and 4 first rounders - including ours. Dragic / Farmar should hold down PG position. Lee / Morrow at SG. Gasol/Sam/Pat/Josh is solid big rotation. Could package picks to move up. Con: sacrifice free agency. Lakers: Get Legit PG. save long term $. Humphries, Hill, Morris is okay trio at PF. Stevenson and Williams interesting defensive options on wings. Nets: Add legit pieces to convince deron to stay. Shed some contracts.
Like Max said below, if this is true I think Morey made a big mistake. Bogut was the perfect fit. He's injuried so you keep your lottery pick while telling fans we got an All-Star type center on the cheap who is ready to go next year. You help the Bucks make the playoffs thus making the NYK pick better. I really hope the Rockets didn't pass on this deal for Lee and Martin.
It doesn't appear Martin has been offered in any deals by Morey. He still believes in his advanced stat all star even if McHale doesn't. I'm seeing another coach-GM riff on the horizon.
Woj said on WFAN-660 that every POR player is on the trading block (including LMA) after that 42-point loss last night. Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA One GM says, "One thing is for sure today: Portland is open for business right now." Martin / Hill for Batum / Camby One could only hope
Sessions has been traded to the lakers for a future draft pick...so we are not trading Flynn. This deadline has been disappointing so far
I think the Spurs were interested in him too. The Bucks have too many vet guards/wings who deserve playing time so they could be a possible destination.
Anyone given thought to what we're doing with our large amount of cap space this summer? I've had a crazy idea. Looking at the list of free agents as it dries up (Howard opted in, Love extended, etc.), the most premiere guy is Deron Williams. However, we have Kyle Lowry and while Williams is better, it seems like a waste to have both on the same team. Still, we know Dwight Howard wants to play with Deron Williams. If we use our cap space to sign Deron Williams, could we flip Kyle Lowry (+ others) to the Orlando Magic (who would lose Howard after next year, probably) for Dwight Howard? Considering free agency happens after the draft, we unfortunately wouldn't be able to sweeten the deal with our copious amount of first round picks, but the prospect is still interesting to consider.
