Ok, so did that guy ever post the actual interview (sound, not typed)? I see Sheridan confirmed it but his article just ties back to the RealGm interview.

One of the guests on mike & mike said that with the new CBA the diff between signing and extension and opting out and resigning is about 25 mil less if you sign the extension. Sure that has something to do with it, but if he signs it or extends he only has himself to blame for the lost cash.

I'm sorry, but I just don't believe this Rudolph guy. These are sources I haven't even heard about till today. Until I see a reliable source, I believe Dwight is getting traded today.

For all the freaking out yesterday afternoon about, "if he wants to do it, he should sign it now!!" and "clearly he's just playing them or he'd sign it now!!"

He wanted to sign the documents waiving his right to opt out LAST NIGHT and was told BY THE MAGIC FRONT OFFICE to sleep on it.

Howard is expected to sign his waiver around 12:30 eastern. WTF. Thanks a lot, Dwight, for holding a bunch of teams hostage at a critical time of the year...

    I'll take Deron.

Especially if it's to c***-block Dallas.

But I don't think NJ will have the sack to do it. They're burning up the phones, trying to get high value players for their expirings.

Good decision on his part. Anything he can do to make it more difficult for other teams to improve at the deadline he should/will do. At the end of the day, he wants his team to be better than the rest (save, maybe, the teams he's targeting for 2 years from -- NJN, DAL).

I have a sinking feeling that our days of acquiring superstars via trade or FA are over.

Somebody pull me out of this depression. :(

We'll give them Scola and Martin and the lottery protection removed from their pick for expirings, Brooks, and their pick non-lottery protected.

I think it was radio, on Colin Cowherd (ESPN radio).

Howard doesn't owe any other team a damn thing; he can take his sweet time and it really shouldn't bother anyone.

If you've got a GM chasing rainbows, don't hate the leprechaun, hate the GM.

Brousard just said on sportscenter:" if he gets traded, Houston is the most likely place"

Well said. Why should Howard rush a personal career decision just to convenience other teams he's ultimately competing against? It makes no sense.

Wouldn't work well, since he'd refuse to extend with us and walk to Dallas anyway, screwing us over even more.

I wish. But it's not going to happen. He's going to sign the deal...and with Howard committed to Orlando, the Magic are going to be able to acquire the sort of players through free agency that have typically stayed away from that market.
