I think he chickened out of it because of possible bad press. I don't think he wants the type of hate/image Lebron got when he made his decision to leave. I think he should have looked outside the bubble he lives in and I think he would have realized that not too many people other than those in Orlando would have given two sheets.

Actually I'm impressed with this statement. We all get caught up and make wrong choices but he's come to realize it before it was too late. Most of our mistakes don't have a 1000 twitter followers reporting our thoughts.

Are you kidding? Orlando fans are nuts if they hold a grudge against him.

LOL if you think we had anything close to Ellis to offer.

Disagree. I think his greedy agent was in his ear whispering about money and fame. He was being lured and puffed up, getting his ego stroked by being told how powerful he is. Then he probably got a call from his Mama telling him she didn't raise her boy to be that way. The mist cleared and he remembered concepts like team, pride, city, loyalty, overcoming hardship, etc.

Quite possibly the dumbest decision of his life/career. But we'll just have to see how the future plays out. Gotta live with the results, good or bad.

What I should have said was nothing better than Ellis that we were going to offer.

Good. Now that all that nonsense is out of the way we can get on with it. Bring on Gasol.

But after everything that's already happened, I think it's too late to repair his image. It will probably smooth over with fans in Orlando, but I don't think anyone else will change his mind about how Howard has handled the situation.

Not exercising his ETO isn't the same as signing an extension, so this is going to happen AGAIN in another year. How is that better?

If we dont do any moves ATLEAST! lets take on Okafor's contract that way...
1- we stack up on another center for the playoffs our team will be solid, 2 deep at every position.
2- at the same time by making the playoffs New Jersey can have their pick paid off, we then have the flexibility to make trades in the future.
3- We get one of the New Orleans high draft pick for our future in a loaded draft, we might be able to draft a star with Moreys drafting abilities.
