Getting a heads start here. This thread will be the place for us fans to come to in 11 hours when/if the Rockets underwhelm and we're left thinking what the hell is going on here.
I'll go ahead and get this post out of the way too... "It wasn't Morey's fault that Dwight took forever to decide he wanted to opt-in."
See that's the beauty of it, if I'm right (and I really think I am) and the Rockets disappoint, then this thread will have been a jumpstart. If I'm wrong, hell I'm a fan, I'll be just as happy as everyone else. For the fact of the matter though, I do think getting Kaman is not a move in the right direction for the franchise, at best it lets us win a game, possibly two in the playoffs, but we still suck.
lolz, I wanted to add a caveat to the original post. Without a doubt there will be dozens, if not hundreds, of posts claiming "well Morey tried but...." those won't fly, all of that "asset gathering" was for this trade deadline, it's a huge step in the right direction, or a total, laughable, failure.
It's over. **** you Dwight Howard, Bogut, Monta, Granger, K-Mart, T-Will, D-Will (both of them), Pau, David Stern, Evan Turner, Kaman, Melo, Morey, Gordon and I guess LeBron. Goodnight friends.
I think you are right. I am just thinking it could work out if Morey does go all in for Gasol and Kaman at the same time if he makes the right players involved. Maybe something else? It does feel like a long shot for anything else eexcept Kaman and maybe some draft picks. I would rather have draft picks if its just between that and Kaman.
If you already know the result, why would you be surprised at the result by asking "So that's it?" Since you already know the Rockets will fail to improve, then the trade deadline should be nothing more than another day in the NBA regular season.
Yes this is it, Morey might have a degree and will but in the end he overvalues our players / other teams undervalue because: A) He's desperate and willing to trade anyone B) He talks to so many teams, keeps them waiting until it's too late C) They see how players are doing this year D) Players not getting playing time keeps their value down E) Waited for Howard which everybody except Morey thought was possible For a guy with a degree he's quite hesitant and reluctant to pull the trigger early. Smart business men take risks and just do it, people with bad business sense wait, try to calculate everything and wait it out until it's too late and lose.
Yeah, people here just don't understand: winning isn't everything. In fact, it's quit inconsequential, really. It's all about battlefightin' and supporing DM the GM and his 10yr plan. I just want to see some guys win some meaningless games that "make it all worth it" every year. Like the recent OKC game....COMPLETELY absolves anything else that happens this year. I'll be happy no matter WHAT the Rockets do now. I am a REAL fan.
