Why doesn't he just sign an extension if he really wants to be in Orlando?

Many ways to get the deal done.

    Patterson and Lowry for Gasol
1st round pick and Marcus Morris for Kaman.

    Lineup looks like this still:
    Gasol/Kaman
    Scola/Gasol
    Parsons/Budinger
    Martin/Lee
    Dragic/Flynn

    Not too bad still.

I don't think Gasol makes us that much better. Plus, it defeats the overall purpose of investing in Lowry...

I like the Kaman deal the most right now.

I never thought I could hate somebody for opting in to stay with their team... but I'll be damned if Dwight didn't pull that off.

I was thinking this too... From the quotes it sounds like he's in love with Orlando. Well then why don't you sign the extension Howard?

    Ugh I hate this crap.

Salaries should match that's why Scola has to go with Lowry for a Pau deal. There's like a 13mil salary difference between Lowry and Gasol.

Lakers would be okay with that deal but the salaries don't match. That trade fails.

I'm in this boat right now. Gasol would make our team a lot better, but after you factor what we lose in the trade our team would not be that much better. We would mainly just be helping the Lakers.

The only player we NEED to get rid of is KMart. The only position we NEED to fill is the the center position. We could get Kaman for a hell of a lot less than Gasol, and possibly land another key player for a lesser price.

We need an offensive post player who can block at least a few shots here and there and rebound at an above average rate. Gasol does fit that bill. Kaman is too crappy at the "offensive post player" part to solve our problems.

Dragic's play as a starter is getting me more onboard with Lowry + Scola for Gasol... still not sure I'm 100% sold on it, but I don't think I'd be as pissed off as I would've been a couple weeks ago.

If we make Dragic a starter and sign him and Lee for $7M each in the offseason, exercise the Bear's option, and add another good big man (could be just Motiejunas), I could get onboard with that. Sounds like 3rd to 6th seed depending on a variety of factors.

Or if we bring in D-Will to go with Gasol that would be even better.
