Don't misunderstand me. I'm one of those who would do nearly anything to land him, but he's being absurdly indecisive. The dude is a grown man and a professional basketball player. Howard should consider acting more like one. One can give excuses for this until Doomsday, but changing his mind by the "hour" is beyond tiresome for everyone, and not just the poor folks going through this in Orlando.

    Just throwing this out there:

IF he is signing his opt in for 1 more year, could this perhaps be a precursor for a trade to the Lakers?

It would certainly take away the biggest reason the Lakers were backing away....the idea they would be renting Howard for 21 games. If they got Howard in a trade with him signed through the end of next season, that might be enough for them to trade Bynum to Orlando who would be the best player offered to Orlando (that we know of).

Completely agree. Howard has really choked under the pressure and made things more difficult for everyone involved.

TheresTheDagger, he's extending (if this story is legit) for the specific reason of NOT being traded by tomorrow.

That's what's weird, assuming there's anything to the latest report. If he opted in for one year so the Magic could get more value in a trade, that would be doing them a solid, but what I'm reading is a soap opera.

I disheartening would it be if it turned out that Howard decided to resign with Orlando because the Rockets had jumped out ahead as the Magic's favored trade partner?

This can't all be true. Dan Fegan is one of the best....

I think DHo has damaged his reputation beyond repair in Orlando...regardless of the deadline.

If this was all Morey was banking on, and if he didn't have a backup plan, he's gotta go.

    Dwight was a pipedream.

    He could have had Bogut...

He better have something else going...now.

    From Hoopshype:

Jarrod Rudolph: In an exclusive interview Dwight Howard has confirmed to me that he will in opt-in and stay in Orlando for at least another year.

Jarrod Rudolph: Howard was very apologetic for the "circus" he's put Magic fans through. Twitter

are you serious? you just quoted a kid at hoopsworld who is speculating (completely added the Fegan part) based a some supposed friend of Dwight Howard at realgm who somehow got an exclusive interview while Dwight was playing in San Antonio...or maybe while he was in the shower after the game.

Glad this is finally over, assuming the report is true.

This went on way too long. Crazy day.

    Tomorrow will be interesting.

Can someone please do a voiceover/bad paste job of Dwight's head onto this video? It's abundantly clear that the NBA is just blatantly stealing old wrestling storylines now...
