Yeah i wouldn't want donatas to go either. Not that i'm a homer but you just never know how good these guys could end up being. He could be a multi time allstar for all we know, he could be the next dirk...and i don't want the rox to be the next bucks in that type of situation. The Twolves will be the next bucks if donatas pans out to be a star

I think he would take Turk if it meant not giving up Lowry... I'm skeptical that he will take back Turk AND give up Lowry.

I would bank more on Morey being able to convince Dwight that Houston is a big enough market, that McHale is a good coach, and that the Rockets front office is exceptionally skilled in acquiring a supporting cast which can help Dwight win without stealing his spotlight.

Suppose Howard make it to the WCF with the Rockets. The "He wants to win" charade would be exposed should he leave... Especially to go to a bottom 6 team.

I heard that Orlando wants a Melo-type of deal that Denver got. If you're giving away your draft picks and good young players, what are you going to rebuild with if you're Houston? Depending on whose left, it's easier said than done.

True, good point. But that would only expose him as someone who wants the NY market. Right now he's got to worry about that perception AND feeling guilty for leaving the fans of Orlando. If he were to leave Houston after getting the the WCF he'd only have to worry about the former from a PR perspective.

    Take back whatever it takes...

It is time to go all in...

This is exactly what Kevin McHale was signed for. Let him work on Howard for 20 games.

The initial offer from Morey had to be respectable from what NJ was offering which was Lopez, + 2 first round picks, and lets say Humphries expiring contract.

So lets just say the starting big was the Knicks pick, Parsons+ Lowry. That, as you said earlier is better than New Jerseys initial offer and probably forced them to the table, and now they probably decided to throw in Brooks or are offering to take on Turkaglos contract.

The Magic need the Rockets to stay in just a bit longer to get the Nets to throw in ability to take on Turkaglo and give Brooks along with the picks, Lopez, and also Humphries is necessary for salary purposes.

I still think that the Rockets are involved to up the bid and force NJ to the table.

I am sure Les have enough connections in China to get him some endorsements if he decides to sign a long term deal.

Would the Magic send Dwight Howard where he wants to go? New Jersey?

The difference is Melo was making a long term commitment. This is the first time I can think of a superstar being 'rented', if it does go through. I don't think the asking price can be near as high as the Melo deal.

I think they would prefer to trade Dwight out of the conference, but the Nets are ultimately going to pony up and give the Magic everything they want because they know they are the one team that Dwight has given confirmation he will commit to long term.

The Rockets are smart enough to have limits when it comes to taking him as a rental. Namely the bad contracts of Turkaglo or Duhon coming with him and setting this team back majorly from a salary cap aspect.

Word is Courtney Lee is his BFF. With that Howard won't mope for a couple months upset where he is. He will probably get to know the city and maybe learn to love the nightlife like a lot of athletes do. Add that we should have the money to add Deron Williams and we might be on to something. Convince him that we could afford Williams and he can do the leg work to get him here, and in the end Howard will get his extra 30mil from the Rockets that signing elsewhere won't get him!

If that's the case I'd assume Morey knows that and is either in it gain leverage on Orlando or NJ. Maybe Morey deals directly with NJ to deal our pick back for something in exchange for backing out of the discussion. One could hope....gotta get something of value out of all this

I'm almost sure that something important is gonna happen this year finally for the Rockets.

And one among Kyle and Goran is out tomorrow.

I didn't think the same a month ago, now I believe it with conviction. Could be wrong and if only a minor trade happen it's ok, but that's my guess.
