afraid it will be like last year, big deals fall through and we trade some expirings for crappy 2nd rd or conditional 1st rd picks
If its Terrence Williams, Flynn, Thabeet, and Hill are getting the Rockets back a SINGLE first round pick, even a late one I will take it. Multiple picks I will be ecstatic. I think Bill Worrell went out of his way tonight to really talk about the future of the franchise with the incoming young players like Montiejunas, Morris, and Parsons. Maybe there was a bird in his ear telling him to say those things. Maybe he didnt, but I get the feeling he was setting up the fanbase for a un-eventful deadline where they dont really make that big move.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7j2tps4 and give them the knicks pick we get the second best low post big man in the league and keep most of the core lets face it the jazz are rebuilding lets hope they realize that too
I don't know about Hill lately..... We were winning with him before the AS Break and after it we couldn't rebound ..... He is growing into a solid contributor off the bench or as a Part-time starter.
New Article from Adrien Woj. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...lug=aw-wojnarowski_dwight_howard_magic_031412 Still mentioning Houston. Again, I think the Rockets are just involved to help out Otis Smith to help with the price that NJ pays, and force them to the table. These relationships that Morey is earning with Otis Smith could help out in the future mind you. Just like how he helped get Marc Gasol in training camp for the Grizzlies, those just show you that other GM's should love working with Morey even though he calls alot.
That is good for Morey himself but the question remains...... WHEN CAN HE BRING US a player of Dwight's caliber? Hope not by the time Morey himself is on the way out to another team.
I agree about Hill. He's going to get moved if there is something out there for him, but he's probably the least likely to get moved of them due to Houston wanting to bring him back on a small, one or two year deal next year. I wouldn't be shocked too if Hill takes a smaller amount(only if its slightly marginal) to stay in Houston where he is comfortable, knows the trainers, already lives there, and he can eat at the Breakfast Klub at least 5 days a week.
You dont make the big deal if you dont make the calls and build the relationships. He's doing everything he can and GM's are showing that the will work with him despite what the "Nancy's" on clutchfans think when he doesn't throw out the red carpet for Terrence Williams.
Boring. I dont know why Morey needs to wait till the deadline to make something happen. It allows teams like the more willing Warriors to get Bogut ahead of him for his habots of waiting. The perfect deal isnt coming. Probably some minor move sideways. I am getting tired of Morey.
Yeah.... Terrence Williams.... what a name... headscratcher there I said before .... Morey won't unfold all his talent with Les in command. We are lucky to have him but is it really the best thing to keep him when his hands are bound?
The minor moves are waiting on the Dwight deal to take place. Dont blame Morey, blame Dwight for sitting on the fence. Just FYI, read the above post, Morey is involved in this deal to bring New Jersey to the table to get a deal done faster, most likely so he can make his alternative move whether it be Gasol, Kaman, Granger, or whoever.
I am not privy to any of his moves for Granger, Gasol, or Kaman. Those all look a little far fetched besides the minor move to get Kaman. At least right now.
Indiana is making their best playoff run in years... so obviously now is the time they'll trade away their best offensive player. Granger isn't going anywhere
I dont know that his hands are that bound honestly. The Gasol deal proves that he's swinging for the fences. Obviously there were no deals to be made in January so here we are. Lets see what he does after Dwight gets moved. As for the Le$ angle- I dont know that his hands are that tied from Les despite what alot of people think. Yeah, I think if it was up to Morey Dalembert wouldnt be a Rocket, but he really hasnt done anything to NOT rebuild with young talent. He obviously is looking to trade Scola and Martin, and cant force the team to throw games, but the tanking discussion has already been beaten to death. Lets not go there. I just dont believe that GM's can force players and coaches to throw games. That is unless you hire Paul Sylas to coach your team. Every bad team, even the Detroit Pistons, Sacramento Kings, and the Golden State Warriors can be quoted to have said that their goal is to make the playoffs. Houston was no different this year, their goal is for the Young players to get good enough, take those next steps to be a playoff team with a team whose upcoming talent is all still on their rookie deals. That, my friend was the best case scenario and what they were expecting would be overachieving.
Just throwing a name out there. Granger isnt the reason why they are making that run as well. I dont think he's likely or being shopped (havent even heard his name mentioned) but stranger things have happened, and stranger deals have come out of left field. Granger would be a out of left field move.
Idk if I argued it with you on the subject of what Morey has done with his collection of assets..... He values them more individually than GMs of other teams obviously. And I am not saying he is delusional for doing so. But I wonder if our assets are really just mediocre talent that nobody is really going for unless we give them as freebies or for even less
