The latest from A-Woj: 7:15 After broader team meeting today, Dwight Howard had lunch with 3 teammates and told them he planned to opt-in for '12-13 season, source says 7:17 Howard called Magic CEO while sitting at table and informed him of intentions, source says. Still, Magic waiting for him to sign papers now. 7:18 Several sources already believe he's second-guessing that incredible change of heart, and Magic still on phones talking trades with teams.
He is a teenage girl. Only reason he is the "best center in the league," is because center in this league is such a joke. Such an overrated big. He wouldn't even be close to an All-Star if he played in the 90s, maybe even a backup.
It makes a huge difference. He's giving Magic a chance to build a contender and compete in return for them either delivering him a championship team or simply parting ways. It's a safer bet than being traded to a team where the situation is the same where he is missing pieces because they traded the good players away to get him. He wants to win. He will also make more money this way. One more year and Magic may be able to do it. They will have to make a trade that helps them for next year though. Will they pull it off?
BACKUP??? With his athleticism he is a starter plain and simple. His potential is still great as well. If his shot finally starts falling he will be a force to be forever reckoned with.
Exactly. Winning is not his #1 priority. Dude just wants the attention like Lebron got, but he doesn't want to be hated. So he's just going back and forth.

Goddamnit. I know it's stupid. But I believe. I believe we can get him in a trade, and persuade him to stay. I really do.
So he and his agent were trying to play smoke and mirror games with the Magic in order to preserve the assets of the Nets for when he joins them--and failed.
I've got to say, very bush-league move on his part to string them along on his journey of wish-washing.
What a bad move! Imagine the backlash if it actually worked, he doesn't take extra year, and goes somewhere else! These idiots take terrible advice and don't even understand the consequences!!
Man, I know I'm probably in the minority here, but after reading all about this today I don't even want the guy on the Rockets. I don't want any part of these dramatics on our team this summer and I'm now HIGHLY skeptical of him staying with the Rockets. He just doesn't seem to be about winning Chips enough to me. I'd rather get into a 3 way deal to get in on teams vying for him. Seems to be a better place to get value in trade now by taking advantage of teams wanting this guy.
Send him down here Morey! FK it lets take a gamble and rent him. We have many other moves we could make to surround him with talent. If DM can bring him here, he is very capable of getting another piece to Htown. We will be stagnant for another 3-4 seasons if we dont attempt a robbery.
Well, it looks like Howard tried to get himself a move to the Nets without the Nets giving up "pieces". Since that's not going to happen, looks like he'll get traded there. Might not be the worst thing to happen since NJN aren't THAT far behind the Knicks. We wants the Knicks pick - so if Howard to NJN happens, then it isn't the worst thing ever! [much better if he came here, but I can't see why Orlando would send him here for nothing of importance, and giving up anything of importance for a 2 month rental would be silly considering Howard has so clearly been trying to get to NJ - it would just be us getting screwed instead of Orlando]
