what happen was he approached him with bullsh!t...the kind of bullsh!it you spew daily and started a confrontation with an innocent kid. Only things I want to know now is why Zimmerman not behind bars awaiting an investigation and when the murder charge will be issued.

    Nincompoop aren't born...they are bred

It appears that you do not have an open mind, but rather have formed opinions based on your own personal bias.

You are correct...See how easy that was. Just be real with yourself too texx!! That's what I've been saying since yesterday...I’ve been a member since 2002 and rarely post, but felt compelled to express my deepest concern for your r****dation. You're right....I don't have an open mind. My opinion is formed based on my personal bias against you and your man boobs. You are a bigot and I rather you embrace it and stop hiding. You know that video of people that live in Mississippi and how they hate Obama and Obamacare even though they are the poorest state in the union? Well there was a biker that sat on his bike that was asked a question. The female reporter asked, "Well, you don't like black people very much do you?" And he replied " No, No I don't"

It's racist...but it's the truth. I have more respect for him telling the truth than I do for you. Embrace your gifts...the best bigot is an open and free bigot. What color are your titie whities?

    I'm no bigot.

I think you know that, also....but you've painted yourself into a corner in this thread, due to your lack of logic, and now you're trying to defend yourself. It's classic "fight or flight". You're trying to fight back based on insults and hurling slander rather than through reasoned discussion.

    THINK, people, THINK

I rationalize with adults...play with children and chastise idiots. Guess which one you fall into? And yes...I do believe in my heart you are a bigot and why do I have to defend myself against posters that agree with me? Classic fight or flight? What's that? On a t-shirt and Walmart?

As a fat man who is something of a Playstation/Computer cowboy and is mostly allergic to regular exercise, it is no mystery to me how Zimmer"man" got beaten up by someone less than half his size.

But Zimmer"man" despite his physical flaws is a wannabe cop. Not that he could probably actually join a force since he got arrested and got physical with a cop while drinking early in his LENGTHY college career.

So he goes out to play "Adam 12" with his gun, since states like Florida and Texas, just loooooove arming the cop worshiper set. So he starts harassing this kid for "walking while black". Disobeying the REAL cop who told him to just chill. I don't know if he was the first to get physical with the kid or not, I am guessing he at least took a grab at him to try to "detain" him. The kid took him down, probably without breaking a sweat. I guess there is at least a tiny possibility Zimmer"man" feared the kid would take his gun. But I have to believe it was his ego that fired the bullet.

Zimmer"man" was probably uber respectful to his heroes when they picked him up and the equally fearful white-flight set in the gated community doubtless gave him sparkling recommendations. Meanwhile the kid's family and black community activists probably were screaming for justice and basically chafing cop ass, so the cops worked a witness to cut Zimmer"man" a break.

    Kid, clean record in school.

    White man with pseudo-authority-criminal record.

I don't see how you side with the Zimmer"man" in this case, unless in addition to being a fat, physically useless schlub, like me, you also are afraid of "the black" and "instances where your white flight failed to get you a color free place to live". In which case you have to side with Zimmer"man", cause he's you.

    Did I miss anything?

I wonder how different the response to the incidence would be if the shooter was black and the victim was white?

Did you want to elaborate a bit more, or were you just going to leave it at "actually, no"?

In the entire chain of events, it was the final readily apparent conscious/willfull decision. Everything else that happened afterwards...regardless of how it happened...could be attributed to adrenaline, fight or flight, fear, or misunderstanding.

Zimmerman may have had the right to pursue, but by willfully doing so, he intentionally sought out a situation where he might need to use his firearm. If he's not charged with a crime, I think it would set a very dangerous precedent. Anyone could willfully put themselves in a "potentially dangerous" situation and kill someone, all the while claiming self-defense.

a kind of funny read, but basically a product of your imagination.

Let's do the right thing here and rely on the facts. We do not yet have them all.

I agree with your analysis and that is probably the most likely scenario.

Just to follow on what other posters have written about a possible scenario where self-defense would be justified for Zimmerman.

Zimmerman walks up to Martin asking him what he is doing. Martin turns and sucker punches Zimmerman in the face knocking him to the ground and then proceeds to grab a rock, the ice tea bottle or something else to bring it down on Zimmerman. That would constitute a reasonable imminent threat under the self-defense statute and Zimmerman pulling his gun out and shooting Martin is justified.

The problem that I though see with that scenario is that one witness says that she heard Martin, not Zimmerman, call for help. If Martin is determined to kill Zimmerman calling for help would be about the last thing he would want to do.

Just to add the cop that "corrected" the witness should be investigated for evidence tampering. An officer investigating a crime is there to collect evidence and not providing their own opinions to a witness.

Good post and I agree this is a big problem with the Stand Your Ground law. If Martin had killed Zimmerman in my opinion he would've been just as, actually more, justified in claiming self-defense since Zimmerman confronted him and he is under no obligation to retreat.

As I said earlier people misunderstand self-defense laws that encourage retreating from a threat as being soft on crime. What they are really meant is to keep people from becoming victims. By nature any situation where you have to physically defend yourself is very dangerous and inherently unpredictable. It is far better to avoid such a situations rather than trying to fight your way out of them. That is why almost all self-defense instructors emphasize avoidance.

The liberals would be screaming to wait for the facts to come out and the conservatives would be demanding blood... Basically the inverse of this thread.

Um, yeah. When this is the only response you're able to muster, then you've lost the argument.

Raise your level of posting immediately. Learn to THINK critically.

Texxx, the question I asked you probably got lost in the deluge of posts, so I'll ask again.

Don't you think it would set a dangerous precedent if Zimmerman weren't at least charged with a crime?

yes i did. again, if you want to go around burglarizing houses you must accept that you might get killed doing it. being a robber is a dangerous "job" and if you happen to get killed while engaging in that kind of activity than i say you deserved it. and the grand jury seemed to agree w/ me.

the "scene", being the house that they were breaking into and stealing items out of? maybe next time they will think twice before breaking into houses...oh wait a sec...they are DEAD so they wont be breaking into anymore houses ever again, will they?

as clint eastwood said at the end of unforgiven..."deserves got nothing to do with it". death is the risk you take when you decide to go around breaking into peoples houses.

the use of force was not proportionate in any way. joe horn killed two punks w/ criminal records who were robbing his neighbors house. trayvon martin was an innocent kid who got killed b/c he bought skittles and was walking back to his dads house.

this zimmerman idiot obviously initiated the hostilities here or provoked the kid into an altercation...joe horn didnt provoke those two to break into his neighbors home.

i agree w/ what juodoka said as far as a scenario where lethal force would have been justified, but based on what we know it doesnt appear to have played out that way. and now that witness is coming out saying the cops brushed her off as a witness.
