    lol...this is too funny. I hate twitter....seriously.

You know how stress free it was just waking up the next morning and seeing the trade in the paper.

too much information...is just that...too much.

Actually he's not. He went in there and said something...a group of reporters are saying they've been told he talked about an opt-in. Another group of reporters are saying they've been told he never mentioned an opt-in.

Ugh I'm just ready for all this "will he stay? won't he stay?" crap to end. Dwight changes his mind more than a woman changes outfits. I say Morey says 'screw you' to the Magic and look elsewhere for a deal

Isn't it amazing how someone can say something and then it gets out and completely screws up everything and then comes back to it was all made up. Damn twitter!

Negotiations are different from commitment, sir.

If you're my attorney, I'd hope that you weren't confident that I'm legally out of harms way until you get in writing the DA's deal or it's on an official record of some sort.

He didn't say last night, "I'm coming closer to making my decision to stay in Orlando." He said he was decided and resolute and did not WANT to be traded. So if that's what you WANT.... then please elucidate what you think would be the higher probability reasons the paperwork hasn't been signed other than him playing Orlando? Talking it over with people doesn't make much sense if he is already lobbying for not being traded. What makes more sense is he is just saying this stuff to add to the reasons for ownership to not deal him so he can opt out this summer.

You're an attorney, you know that the gap between what someone says and their motivation for saying it is crucial. Why take a different approach here then? What's the likeliest motivation he hasn't sent in the paperwork?

My argument is that he's playing them because he is self-interested.

Come on bro, give it up. If the Magic aren't getting played by this ploy then why are you?

No, I know that's very often caused by 1,000,000 other factors other than that the parties really don't want to close the deal.

It's all may be a non-issue anyway if he never made those comments today in San Antonio.

Then buckle down for a puke-fest. The media is going to blow this up for Howard, Paul, and any other superstar going forward, so long as those superstars continue to act like indecisive, spoiled brats.

played by what ploy? how are the magic any worse off because for less than 30 minutes some reporters reported that they heard from someone other than dwight howard that dwight howard said he'd sign an opt-in?

So either he was lying last night or lying this morning.....

Reason #25 to stop listening to Dwight Howard. The Magic clearly have already.

    No, it doesn't mean that.

Last night he said he'd like to stay through the season.

Today he's saying he'd like to stay through the season, but the Magic aren't likely to be willing to hold on to him through the season to risk getting nothing in return.

There are conflicting reports about what he said in practice...the more recent reports suggest that the previous ones were incorrect.

They aren't worse off because reports are coming out that they are still fielding calls and deals, which means they took my perspective, that they won't stop until they get the paperwork.

That was all I was saying. In the world of multimillion dollar business, they would be negligent fools to believe what a player says without getting a simple piece of requisite paperwork.

Popular teams trade with each other while we facilitate SMH and look for more role players

Of course they shouldn't stop. I'm not remotely suggesting they should stop.

Its just impossible to have a "No comment until it happens" policy regarding opt-outs, trade deadlines & pending free agency.

Yes Howard and any player can say "Not discussing that until the offseason".

But when you have the ORGANIZATION and the FANS and the MEDIA wondering what the future has in stake for THEMSELVES, a player is almost FORCED to say SOMETHING to them. Everyone FEELS THEYR'E the ones in limbo.

The organization can be pressing him with "What are you gonna do, WE NEED and ANSWER for BOTH of OUR BEST INTERESTS"

Then there's the fans with the player's jerseys ready to piss all over the guy for not being "loyal".

The there's OVERREACTIVE MEDIA like that 2nd post, falling all over themselves misinterpreting messages tossing out stuff just to see what sticks for the view counts.

Then people fault HOWARD for "not setting the record clear"... when he's probably been the MOST CONSISTENT person in it all
