give them flynn + williams + hill + thabeet. 4 lottery picks they can develop. if thats not enough for the hornets then give them budinger.

Not necessarily. Its a good deal to keep on an offer on the table for if its what they can live with.(Expirings + 2nd rounder Min pick) Stern has shown in the past that there is really no negotiating with that man. Make your offer, keep it on the table, and move on.

They dont really care about expiring contracts. Thats all the consider Kaman to be at this point, and thats all the 09ers' are to them as well. The point of the trade is to save them a little bit of money off of the top and get a draft pick out of it.

Hell, I'm not even sure I'd include Bud in a Kaman trade package. I'd prefer to either keep him (he's locked in at the league minimum next year) or use him to move up in the draft or in trades for a star . . . who's better than Kaman.

I agree here. Budinger should be left out of the deal. Given the roster will be thinned out dramatically here you really need to keep him on this roster if you do think you are still in the playoff hunt.

I think a 2nd round pick is worth giving up with the 09er's. Thats more than enough to satisfy Stern. This move is made strickly to make a playoff run. There are no guarantees Kaman will be signing in Houston in the summer as a free agent, or that Houston would want to pony up and spend big on him if other quality bigs are available.

I'd like if this trade went down cause this one is the most realistic tbh , I don't want Gasol on our team at all , and Dwight is unlikely , trading Thabeet , Hill , Flynn , Twill and picks should be fine though

I agree. Chasing Dwight is a dream that, if happened, would turn into a nightmare. Leaving the team in shambles for years.
This trade is less damaging to the future of the team. Also, it is possible that by adding Kaman's size and ability to an already decent team, just may be the answer.

exactly , and this team is really developing great chemistry you don't want to break that up right away , I think we can really make a playoff run with this team with the addition of Kaman , they just need to play every game moving foward like vs OKC (great defense and few turnovers)

I wouldn't trade Flynn, though. Only because Lowry will be out for a while. Supposedly.

Hmmm our Minny 2nd rounder beats Indy's 2nd rounder.

I know man. Kaman is putting up some good numbers. If anything, we should get him to trade as an expiring for Dwight.

Indiana could trade for Kaman and only give up a 2nd round pick. Not Houston. They'd have to send salary back to NO.

Exactly. Frankly, if I'm the Hornets, I'd rather trade Kaman to Indy for a nominal (top-55 protected) pick that is never actually conveyed (since Indy is far enough under the cap to eat Kaman's entire salary) than to send him to Houston for, say, $10M in expiring contracts plus the MIN pick.

With the money the Hornets save doing the Indy deal over the Houston deal (which would be approx. $2-3M), they can BUY a high second round pick on draft day.

I just hope Morey isn't waiting on Dwight Howard to make another move. He has always missed out when he does this.

yeah Morey should just settle for Kaman , Dwight's all over the place , and think about what we have to give up for him , and possibly just to rent him?!

I can guarantee you that Morey has lined up about 20 different trades (Plans A through T).

Of course, 18 of the 20 trades could fall through, with the Rockets stuck settling for "Plan R". But you know Morey's at least got something lined up.
