was 05-06, his 10th season, when he averaged 35.4 points a game. I was bored and decided to look up his stats and it surprised me that he did this in his 10th season. I wonder if any current player can do this in their 10th season.

Of course he put up those points when nobody els on your team and you shoot all the shots. I wouldn't say its his best season because they got bounced in the 1st round because Kobe was trying to prove a point.....like always.

How was that his best season? Maybe stay wise but I think that was his epic meltdown vs Phoenix year...give Kevin Martin 30 shots a game and see what numbers he posts

Maybe Durant, but Westbrook will probably take away too many opportunities to make it happen.

Do you think Kobe's 10th season was more impressive than Garnett's 10th season?

Its less about it being his 10TH season. More his AGE when he did it.

At AGE 27, odds are ANY player will can be in the PRIME of their career.

If someone starts playing professional ball at age 14, their 10th" year they'll be 23 years old.

Yes. Garnett's 10th season was 22.2 ppg, 13.5 ppg. While the rebounding looks impressive, but it's easier to do than scoring, given he's 6-11 too. Kobe scoring 35.4 ppg is not easy. If the reason is that his teammates suck, then that shows how good he is, since teams will be focusing on him more and he's still able to score that many points.

Yao's 10th season was more impressive.

I will take KG's season...... Kobe didn't play any defense that year either, while KG was a top 3 defender in the league.

Funny thing is, Jordan's 9th and 11th seasons (age 29, 32) were both better (he decided to play baseball in between the two).

One of many reasons why one has to roll their eyes when anyone tries to claim that Kobe's even in the same stratosphere as a player.

And Jordan didn't have the luxury of going to the free throw line for being tickled like today's players.

He was a machine that year. I forget how much 50's he had in that season alone and he had a stretch of consecutive ridiculous games:

    65pts
    50pts
    60pts
    50pts
    43pts
    23pts
    53pts

He probably would have dropped 80+ in that Mavs game if he played in the 4th so 2 80+ point games is insane. Too bad he lost to the Suns after going up 3-1. I still remember that Tim Thomas 3 hahaha
