It was the CIA. He wasn't healthy most of the year, and even when he was healthy enough to play he was sitting out games. It was a really weird situation, and as it turns out he is a weird dude.
LOL one of the comments said no way Tate is worth more than a 4th round pick. Wow Cleveland fans really know their football.
Two points: Not many RBs are worth 3rd round picks. Tate is proven in a zone blocking scheme, which limits his value. He also has an injury history. Texans won't trade him and that's the correct decision.
Tate can add years onto his career if he is okay with being the #2 guy.. If he becomes unhappy than I'd look into trading him but no reason to now unless they get an unexpected to good to pass up trade offer...
610 was talking this morning about Cleveland's #4 for our #26 and Tate. Hypothetically - who would you draft at #4 with the way this offseason is going? It has to be either Matt Kalil, OT, USC or Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State in my opinion. Even though we have Duane Brown, I think I would go Matt Kali with the uncertainty on our o-line. Put him at RT and then have leverage when Brown's contract is up next year. Blackmon would be amazing paired with Andre, set up a wicked passing game and be insurance for Andre's hammy. Tough call.
Go for blackmon: Unbelievably talented, humble guy in a field of primadonnas, Homerun threat, current #2 and future #1 WR potential.
I go for Blackmon...He will be a superstar and will give the Texans a true #1 for many years past Andre's prime. We can then use our first rounder next season to shore up the OL, if need be.
Wouldn't lose either way but we just made a big investment in Arian and then of course our line went immediately unstable with losing our RT and potentially losing our C and RG.
True, but we can fill in RT and RG with capable back ups, so I dont see us losing too much there. Losing Myers will hurt, but then we have our draft picks this year to address that.
kalil or maybe even trade back a few spots and try to get coples or ingram...I just don't like Blackmon that early in the draft, especially when the texans are having issues on the Oline and OLB depth
