I completely understand mario, you have a newborn and a 2 year old kid to take care of Spoiler New born 2 Year Old
absolutely agreed. i just think it's funny when they come out and say it's not about the money....and then go to places like buffalo to sign.
The second he gave the interview and said "I'm not telling my agent to do this or that, I'm letting him handle everything", I knew he was gone. That's absolutely code for: I'm going to the highest bidder and there will be no hometown discount. I'm not mad at him, either. He's very much entitled to do anything he wants as a free agent. And I agree that the 4-3 DE aspect hasn't been talked about enough. I appreciate what he did to be a fish out of water for Wade last year, but that's clearly not a selling point.
Yeah. I simply don't understand all of the angst over Mario. If they'd franchised him, they would have had to pay him $22M at a time when they started out $20M over the salary cap. This would have required gutting the team just to keep him which means that they could not have signed Arian Foster, Myers or others. Now consider for a moment that last season, which player was more valuable to the team: Mario or Arian? Williams missed the season due to injury and the defense did not skip a beat. Can anyone say that the same thing would be true about Foster? The difference is due the respective systems they play in. Foster is far more valuable to the offense - in fact it can be argued that he's integral to the offense - than Williams is to the defense. Unlike Wade and a lot of others here, Mario is NOT DeMarcus Ware and is not a LB. He is a true 4-3 DE and as such, if he can play in such a system AND get PAID, then it is a no brainer as far as I am concerned.
That's what drives me nuts about it; but in the long run, I don't think he is worth that type of contract. It wasn't long ago he had a reputation of just hand-fighting with linemen or over-running the pocket without getting pressure on the QB. Throw in his injuries the past few years, and I just don't see him being worth that type of contract. All of that said, I'd love it if he stayed...but only for the right contract. If he could make it a full year in Wade's system, he might be the "monster" that ESPN is making him out to be right now during free agency.

Peck asked if this was a good sign, Williams said “we’ll see.” Copyright
Mario will be a Bill soon. His fiancee is meeting him in Buffalo probably for a press conference. Only reason that makes sense. The Texans said they wanted to keep Mario. Off course they did, but that was just lip service. They knew there salary cap situation woulnt allow it. They were just saving face. Tell the fans what they want to hear, then in the end act like they tried but Mario was just greedy.
Good riddance if he does. Let him rot up there, and enjoy all of his money -- he won't be doing any winning that's for sure.
if Buffallo had the letters IR in it, I would have a much easier time making a joke right now...just another reason for me to hate them I guess
