I recently started a new job, and a component of my job is to read and interpret engineering drawings of various manufactured parts. The problem....I have never had to do this before.

Can anyone suggest websites/books that will help me get up to speed on this in a relatively short period of time? Thanks.

The economy must really be really turning around if they are hiring people that don't know how to do what's required. Or did you lie in the interview? *wink*

Did you get the job simply by stating you had stayed at a Holiday Inn the night before?

Funny- that's exactly what happens when the economy goes over 'full employment'.

I would be very careful about doing this. You could expose yourself and your company to a lot of liability if you are responsible for reviewing / approving material that you are not qualified for. You should talk to your boss before you do this and let him know that you haven't done this before and if your company wants you to do that they should provide the training rather than rely on you to train yourself.
