he's also in his 30s..and has barely ever shot over 42% from the field. wouldnt make sense unless we had a team in place that could win the west.
Oh really? I was "completely" unaware that a miniature country that pays scant regard to it's own basketball league could fail to be a goldmine for Les.
He can't this season. 9.3 PER, an abysmal .459 TS%, 88 ORtg, 108 DRtg, with a negative win share. There could be an argument made that he's the worst player in the league this year who got significant minutes. All other years before, he was just an average scorer who took a ton of shots on a fast paced team. I consider him and Monta Ellis one of the most overrated 20 ppg scorers the league has ever seen.
I'm down for bogut but only if we land gasol too, that front line with Lowry is somthing u can really build around but just bogut alone doesn't do it for me. Hes a nice player but no star or player that's going to drop 20 a night, but he will play great defense and rebound. I guess I'm just spoiled with Hakeem then getting Yao but I can dream right.
I don't hold this opinion. He was a stud with several playoff teams. The Spurs under Pop, the Pacers and the Bobcats. Excellent defender, underrated passer and capable, but streaky shooter, ala Vernon Maxwell.
You got it. He plays like garbage on mediocre teams that have no chance but put him in the playoffs and he nuts it up big time. He's a very good, tough defender on a guy like Lebron. Thing is, he's only got one year left anyways. If that is the price you pay to get Bogut, it doesn't prevent us from going after a max free agent of we still want to. Everybody is tradable.
I really don't understand what the Rockers are doing. I mean, if you can get Bogut for what's been reported, and you reportedly can get Gasol for Kyle and Scola...why not just do that instead of chasing a pipe dream in Dwight Howard? I think having Gasol and Bogut together would be awesome and you would have them both signed without risk. Even taking back Jackson would work, and you would still have Kevin Martin and Dragic plus. Yes it puts you out fo the running for Dwight and Dwill, but we probably as usual aren't getting them anyway. If the Rockets don't get either of them, and pass on a possible front line of Bogut and Gasol, I will be highly, highly pissed! Dragic/trade for a backup Martin/Bud Jackson/Parsons Gasol/PPat Bogut/Smith
@WojYahooNBA: Milwaukee and G-State are near deal to send Andrew Bogut and Stephen Jackson for Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh and Kwame Brown, sources tell Y!
@WojYahooNBA: Bucks and Warriors have agreed in principle on trade to send Bogut and Jackson to Warriors for Ellis, Udoh and Brown, league source tells Y!
This is really getting ridiculous. I'm tired getting my hopes up and the orginization not able to make things happen. No, it's not past the deadline, so I'll hold out hope, but I'm inching closer to not having any faith in Morey. Putting us in place to upgrade our roster is nice, but it's not upgrading our roster. Working the salary cap in the teams favor is nice, but it doesn't matter if you can't do much with it.
Damn this sucks!!! Bogut would have been awesome but no doubt Ellis is probably better then anything the Rockets had to offer. It really sucks being a Rockets fan right now. This is the first season ever I have not watched a Rockets game from strat to finish - and I have no real desire to. The lack of any promise, any excitement, any direction has me feeling empty. BTW - I am/was one of Morey's biggest supporters but this is getting real old real fast. If you can't make the trade route work then slap Alexander in the face and wake him up to the reality of the NBA!!
I would still hold out one more day to judge this. I'd rather rebuild through the draft... well that is not going to happen with Les.
It's gotta be Howard. This takes GS out of the running for Dwight. It improves our Knicks pick. We are now the frontrunner to rent Howard.
