It's circumstantial evidence that he wasn't armed, that wasn't on fit that Zimmerman outweighed him by 60+ lbs? What do you base that on?
That information does not rule out the possibility that Zimmerman did indeed act justifiably in self defense. Sorry to crush your dreams of finally "nailing whitey". we really need more facts
we all need to see more concrete facts. nothing is circumstantial about an out of control community volunteer who has been the subject of an emergency neighborhood association meeting for his aggressive tactics. oh, and when I read "non-emergency police number", I translate it like this Operator: 911, what is your emergency? Shooter: There is an unarmed African American boy walking home in his father's neighborhood! Operator: uhhh, that is not an emergency, sir, let me transfer you to the local police department.
Jesus christ man... if this is a front and you are just trolling, whatever you are just being annoying. But if what you type on these message boards are serious then you seriously need some help.
Cool... so now I can go up to a random dude in a empty ally way, shoot him and should be good because there is no hard evidence because the only other person that was there is dead.
One of the things that outrages me is the media's control of people's minds. Many on this board unknowingly have been duped into believing this is a clear-cut case of outrageous, unjustifiable murder. The truth is that we need more facts to come to that conclusion. That is what's happening here. There are people out there who want to make this into a racial super story, and they pull tactics like putting up a picture of an 11 year old African-American to play to people's sympathies.
Be sure to run up and grab, so when he hits you there will be physical evidence that your life was in peril. (Ooo, and make sure it is someone a decade younger and ~100 pounds lighter. And minding their own business. Most importantly... UNARMED.) Remember. You were just standing your ground.
even if you remove race, texxx, the facts, as we know them -- or as we can reasonably project -- still tell of a huge injustice that resulted in a kid being killed. And Zimmerman being at fault -- at minimum though sparking a confrontation by getting out of his car when he had no reason to do so. FWIW -- here's a pic of Zimmerman He's probably not welcome at the local Klan meet up, but he should be able to protect himself against a 140 pound kid without deadly force. I think "out of control" fits here, no?
Concrete Facts: 1. Martin, a MINOR, was in town visiting his family during the all-star weekend. 2. Zimmerman, an ADULT, was on community watch during the incident. 3. Zimmerman called in and notified of a suspicious male walking in the neighborhood. According to authorities, they told him not to pursue Martin. 4. Zimmerman continued to pursue Martin. 5. No clear reports as to why or how Zimmerman approached Martin (or if Martin approached Zimmerman). 6. No eye witnesses have come forward to say what happened. 7. Teen was unarmed and was roughly 70-100 feet away from his dad's apartment when he was shot. 8. Zimmerman claimed self defense at the scene. He had a bloody nose and blood on the back of his head. Would you like to dispute any of these facts or add anything? Anonymous sources have also indicated that Zimmerman used aggressive tactics in the past. Zimmerman was also charged with resisting arrest and attempted battery of a police officer. These charges were later dropped (plea deal?). Martin took pictures of himself flicking off a camera and posted them on facebook. He probably enjoyed rap music. Now, more on Florida's Stand Your Ground Statutes http://www.ericmathenylaw.com/Criminal-Defense-Blog/2010/April/Stand-Your-Ground-An-Absolute-Defense-in-the-Sta.aspx 1)It establishes that law-abiding residents and visitors may legally presume the threat of bodily harm or death from anyone who breaks into a residence or occupied vehicle and may use defensive force, including deadly force, against the intruder. Martin was clearly not breaking into a residence. Nothing has also come out that he was trying to break into an occupied vehicle (there would be witnesses). 2)In any other place where a person “has a right to be,” that person has “no duty to retreat” if attacked and may “meet force with force, including deadly force if he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another to prevent the commission of a forcible felony.” Considering that Martin had skittles, tea and was 70-100 feet from his father's residence. Their story of him walking to the store for candy/drinks adds up. There would be serious doubt of Martin's intentions to commit a forcible felony. To determine if Martin would be guilty of aggravated assault or battery in this case would take more than just Zimmerman's word. 3)In either case, a person using any force permitted by the law is immune from criminal prosecution or civil action and cannot be arrested unless a law enforcement agency determines there is probable cause that the force used was unlawful. Still unclear on whether the force was permitted. More facts/witnesses will be coming soon. If there was a video or witness testimony that showed Martin pretending to have a gun under his shirt, then this would be a different story. If Zimmerman truly felt like his life was in danger against a kid 60 lbs lighter and 11 years his junior, then I'd have some doubts about his story. 4)If a civil action is brought and the court finds the defendant to be immune based on the parameters of the law, the defendant will be awarded all costs of defense.
Yes you have all the answers. Is it a media tactic when a teenage white girl gets raped and murdered and they post a picture of her on the news? No, its reporting the ****ing news. You b**** about people assuming facts this whole thread yet you are assuming that the news posting a picture of a dead teenager is because the news has some ****ing agenda?
All that is indeed circumstantial. Can't you just accept that we really don't know what happened immediately prior to the shooting and absent that there is no case against Zimmerman?
Yes, the news media does have an agenda. They have a bias. Why did HuffPo choose to promote this story without a full knowledge of the facts?
It's tragic that Martin was killed. However, we do not have enough to determine whether Zimmerman was at fault. Not even after you posted a picture of Zimmerman (lulz)
So we should just automatically assume that he shot in self defense absent eye witnesses? There is probably cause that he shot an unarmed teenager with ZERO evidence that proves otherwise. Perhaps he fell on his own accord that caused the bloody nose and injury to the back of his head. No video, no witnesses, probable cause. He is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. He is entitled to a fair trial as much as Martin's parents are entitled to closure on this matter. Instead, they are withholding the 911 tapes and had to pass the buck to state prosecutors.
