What I like about this year's Champs' League is the upsets and cinderella teams. This is the March Madness of soccer and APOEL of Cyprus are the VCU or Butler in the UCL. http://sports.yahoo.com/soccer/news?slug=ap-apoelsmiracle

Let's see how Bayern does tonight. We're a force at home, but an early goal will be crucial to our success vs. Basesl in this game. I think we'll struggle really bad if we go to halftime without scoring a goal, so I have my fingers crossed for an early one by Robben, Ribery or Gomez in the first 30 minutes. Ribery and Robben will be the key in this match, they'll have to be everywhere on the pitch and confuse Basel's defensive line with their individual skills and good passing.

Predict a 2:0 or 3:0 if we score in the first 30 minutes, if the game's 0:0 at halftime it will be a sickening 2nd half.

    Sorry for the typo. ;)

PS: Hope we use the same defensive line as vs. Hoffenheim with Lahm at the right side and Alaba going left, Boateng&Badstuber as central defenders. Looked really good last weekend.

3:0 at halftime, it's a wrap. Now just hope we won't face Real or Barca at the next stage.

LOL that was funny, how Basel thought they had a chance. Bayern was just much better. I really like Bayern's offensive line. Möller, Ribery, Gomez and Robben, with Schweinsteiger behind them. Amazing. With a good defense they could actually beat Real or Barca

SJC and Yung-T what is your opinion on the problems Robben had with Bayern and especially the board?

I think it was more of a problem with the media. The players like him (although he is sometimes a bit too much of an egoist on the field, in other situations, it wins games that he does what he does, and off the pitch, everyone likes him anyway). He's a nice, intelligent guy and a fantastic player when he is healthy. His family is very nice, too, they are always around and I think they also consider themselves part of the Bayern family (especially his father, who is almost always there). But he should think about his body language on the field (always throwing his arms in the air when he doesn't get the ball or a pass goes wrong, celebrating alone, etc.).

Bayern can beat anyone on a good day, but I don't really think we can beat Barca over two matches. My ideal scenario would be to play Nikosia or Lisbon or anyone not named Real or Barca (don't like Milan much either as an opponent) in the next round. It would be perfect if Real or Barca had to square off in the next round already, leaving only one of them to still eliminate...

I don't want to see Barca before the final. In one match in the final, in Munich, if Bayern is at the top of its form, with our offensive firepower, we could possibly overwhelm them.

I actually like our new defensive line with Alaba on the left, Badstuber/Boateng in the middle and Lahm on the right.

Ribery destroyed Basel. His crosses were finding Gomez all night. I wish Robben had passed to Gomez on the last goal so that Gomez would have had his 5th goal of the match.

awesome game, my heart was racing for literally 120 straight minutes. Drogba is Chelsea. I knew he was going to go all out. Now on to the next one, just hope we avoid barca, real, milan, bayern.

    The draw is tomorrow right?
Barca and Madrid are the strongest then Bayern and Chelsea. We'll see who gets who should be exciting nonetheless.

P.S lol at Man U also eliminated from Europa league. Bilbao is beautiful to watch.

humiliating for the epl. To have your top tier clubs man u and man city get knocked out in the europa league by mid-table team in la liga and a 5th place team in portugal league is quite embarrassing.

It's clear the the epl is nowhere near the top league, just has the biggest franchises still and names, I mean liverpool sucks but their name is still regarded as elite.

    Draws for the quarters:

    CL:
    Milan-Barca
    Benfica-Chelsea
    Nikosia-Real
    Marseille-Bayern

Good draw for all favourites; Barca, Chelsea, Real, Bayern should advance with ease.
Winner Bayern:Marseille meets winner Real:Nikosia in semis, winner Milan:Barca meets winner Benfica:Chelsea.

    EL:
    Schalke-Bilbao
    Hannover-Atletico
    Lissabon-Charkov
    Alkmaar-Valencia

Think Schalke, Hannover, Lissabon, Valencia will advance.
