Completely agree. Its easy to say... Trade him now!!!!arrgg...

Whats the alternative to Martin??...worse contracts, no upgrade in talent, and more roster turnover.

What does all that even mean? With all due respect, we aren't having a conversation with 11 years old kids here, or talking about 11 year old players. They aren't automatons. They are all men who are very diverse, who handle situations differently according to the individual.

So are grown up men and ball players not responsible for their performances?
Aren't they professionals. Scola and Goran handled the situation pretty well. just because this boy is from Ohio and those others are either from Europe or SAmerica do they deal with this differently?

As said before... he had his worst season when Adelman was removed from office by the Maloofs so it is no surprise.
I am actually not blaming him... I wanted him gone before the season because he, Scola, Budinger and the inconsistent Dalembert can't really coexist here if your goal is higher than 8th seed.

come on, let's be real. If you are at a job and you know that there is a chance that you will be working for a competing firm in 3 days, what would you do? Know way in hell I would give my best effort in fact the firm would be lucky if I even showed up to work. This is what's going through Martin's mind right now.

When his future is secure he will play better. Right now he doesn't know.

Just when you think we can get back to the playoffs he scores 5 points.... and when you are at the bottom he suddenly scores near 30 points again so that we can't really tank.

He is what he is. A pain in the butt sometimes.

Butt he has only been a pain this season. He did start suffering when Tyrekke Evans came aboard in Sacramento I agree, but this season, more than even then, has been an anomoly.

The guy hasn't decline athletically or skill wise, he is just slumping terribly. The Slump has killed his trade value so its not like you can just trade him for a slew of picks. You seem much more educated than alot of posters on here to know that. I cant stand it when people say... "Trade him for Picks." Ok.... sure. Morey would love to. Its not gonna happen.

All Im saying is that the hope of him coming back alive at some point(with one year left on his deal) is better than the alternative of making a bad snap-shot decision to unload him for bad, multi-year contracts that dont get this team any closer to winning a title.

No matter how much a player makes, no player wants to hear their name come for trades all the time. Its like ,why should I give my all to a team that don't give a crap about me. The rockets traded horry because he was gun shy, but after it fell through, his name wasn't brought back up till he was traded. At some point u move on mentally.

I believe that Martin is professional enough to not sacrifice his integrity to the point that some are suggesting.

I admit my patience with him is wearing thinner from day to day.
He always reminds me of the failed project to pair him up with Yao and vintage Scola.
Ok. I will stay put with trade proposals but I think we should just cut his minutes and stay this course.
He is a millionaire, he can absorb this. Nobody is actually giving us pressure to go to the playoffs other than a Alexander.

Every time CF starts a thread about Martin he goes out and drops 30. He can't do that without Kyle though, maybe get close against the Okies.

Im sure Les has watched his fair share of games this year and felt our frustrations as well. Ive been to games and seen him walk out during a timeout with a completely disgusted look on his face like he's about to hit someone. I also rememeber one time during a summer league game on NBATV two years ago hearing about Morey cussing and going crazy in the bleachers because their summer league team wasnt playing well. No doubt they are just as fed up with Martin's slump as we are.

I dont think the front office should stay put with trade proposals at all, but they obviously realize that what the offers they are gonna get back are complete trash. After Thursday, if nothing happens, and Martin hasn't got back on track, I fully expect McHale to try Lee in the starting lineup.

He probabaly has been prepping for that change here recently anyways to at least light a fire up his butt. Jonathan Feigan(usually pretty honest) has always been real high on Martin's work ethic, saying that he's usually the first one in the gym and the last to leave, but he's just weak in confidence this year. Its tough to watch I know, but its still the best option the team has right now.

That being said, If some team is dumb enough to trade for him for expiring contracts and a lottery pick.... shoot... Morey would jump on it.

Kevin Martin will be a game-time decision at OKC with strained r shoulder. Martin said it's been an issue for a month, but hit a screen Sun.

He also said in his interview with Feigan yesterday that the shoulder issue isn't what has caused his slump. He seems to be taking ownership of the slump for what its worth.

I think Martin kinda touched on that, according to post before yours

Some veteran players are used to the BUSINESS and ready for changes. Used to the grind

Other guys need A ROUTINE and some CONSISTENCY.

All those elements of change happened WELL BEFORE the deadline.

Also the changed NBA foul rouls DIRECTLY HURT'S Martin's on-court game. It might as well have been called "The Kevin Martin Rule".

In the entire previous SEASON, KM had single figures in scoring only 3 times in the 80 games he played.

He's had single figures in 9 of his last 19 games.

    If that's a slump, it's a pretty nasty one.

Maybe Morey secretively asked Martin to start tanking, but not to tell Les.

Well, his minutes have been seriously curtailed. Hard to score in double digits when you only play 15 minutes. His slump is still bad, which is why he's getting pulled.

I doubt it's on purpose. It could be simple depression because he's not enjoying being here. So, he's not trying hard because it's hard to get motivated, but not because he has an agenda to suck.
