Otherwise known as the Linsanity-induced bubble on Knicks tickets...

So, I've been tracking Knicks ticket prices for a while now. The minimum price for tickets was around $35-40 for "undesirable" opponents (like the Bucks) before Lin's rise. At the height of Linsanity (about the All Star break), I think the minimum price for tickets were around $130 even for bad opponents (more for the better rivals). Now, it's not quite at the pre-Lin level, but you can get tickets to games vs. Portland and Milwaukee for $65-75 minimum.

This is a pretty rough estimate, but kind of interesting to see how the pricing bubble being played out in the span of a couple months.

Dammit, I thought this was about the Tulip Festival that happens every few years in the Netherlands. I went to one some time back and it was incredible, and you're telling me that this is about that Lin dude? Has he turned into a flower? Are you watering his bed?

Wait a minute... what forum is this???

Not to change the topic, but I'm concerned they will fire D'Antoni and right the ship somehow in the final 24 games.

It does look like the Lin madness is over though ... appears to have settled into being just a regular (and struggling) point guard.

I think Lin has been basically what he said he was trying to become couple years ago: a Goran Dragic-type player (perhaps the less experienced version from a couple years ago).

I am not sure firing D'Antoni will change anything. Realistically, you are not going to bring in an outside coach to turn this around (like Phil Jackson) and the job would go to Mike Woodson, who is already on staff. In any case, I am not sure what the new coach will do to turn them around: Bench Melo and Amare, who have never been that good on D and tend to be "ball stoppers" on the offense? (BTW, Funny enough, I think the Knicks really miss Jare Jeffries lately).

On the positive note (other than the Rockets owning NYK draft pick), the Knicks sucking => maybe I can afford tickets agin.

I have to agree, though at this point, their best hope is for the 8th seed unless the Celts collapse. Even if they keep D'Antoni, I still think the Knicks will finish in front of the Bucks.

I've been expecting Linsanity to die down. It was just a matter of time.
