I guess the whole Martin for turner thing went down the drain since he wants to come out and dominate
Houston: Bogut, Jackson, and Gasol Lakers: Jennings, Scola, Thabeet Bucks: Lowry, Martin, Dally, Budinger
We pick up Bogut or Gasol in such a way as to make sure there is plenty of caproom/picks to get another star in the offseason to go with Lowry/Gasol or Lowry/Bogut. I'd love to see them load up on young talent and picks in the upcoming draft, but don't see Les going down that road.
2 trades: Dragic to LAL for the worst of LA/DAL 2012 1st rounder Martin MM and NY 2012 1st rounder for Turner or Iggy You pay a high price when the other party does not have to sell.
Not a Rockets trade but I'm predicting Rondo and parts to Milwaukee for Bogut, Jackson, and Jennings.
Two trades: N.Orleans/ Houston Houston gets: Okafor (albatross contract), X.Henry and Minn 2012 1st rd pick N.Orleans gets: Flynn, Williams, Thabeet and Minn's 2012 2nd rd pick. LA. Lakers/ Houston Houston gets: Pau Gasol N.Orleans gets: Kevin Martin, Luis Scola, Chase Budinger and Goran Dragic.
Rockets get Ish Smith and JJ Reddick Magic get expirings future second rd pick Martin, Bud, and Knicks pick for Paul Milsap, (filler) Marcus Morris, Luis Scola, Goran Dragic for Josh Smith and Stackhouse (released) Expirings for Okafor/Minn pick With the opened roster spot, sign Jeff Adrien Lowry/Ish Smith Lee/JJ Reddick Smith/Parsons Milsap/Patterson Okafor/Bear
I predict... We get Okafor + minnie pick... for Sam and expirings... We ship KMart + Bud to minnie... for Beasley and someone else (Wes Johnson/Darko/or expiring pf)..... basically a move to get KMart off the books and give us an option on Beasley... 1 09er will get traded for a second rd pick...
Its important to note that all of these deals will have players coming back to Houston that nobody expects IF they happen. Like for instance, the NO trade might have Vasquez, or Jack coming back. Two PG's that Morey could secretly be very high on. Who knows. If worst comes to worse, the Rockets could call up Will Conroy for the remainder of the year if they need a backup. I think if Morey makes a move like this its obviously positioned for 2012/2013 and if there is no starting quality PG on the roster, that will be priority going into the summer.... Oh and quality point guards are the easiest to come by nowadays. The Rockets have one waiting in Europe they could pull over if they felt inclined to pay his nasty buyout.
Something like this: Houston Receives: Gerald Wallace, Marcus Camby, Craig Smith Portland Receives: Kevin Martin, Hasheem Thabeet, Jordan Hill, Jonny Flynn, pick I think Portland is the team Morey can work because of the dysfunction among players and coaches. Gerald Wallace has been a target for years, Camby solves a need for now and is expiring. Kevin Martin adds a scorer and non-confrontational player to the Blazers, Hasheem expires, Jordan can play a little and Jonny address a point guard spot that the Blazers lack depth at, though he can't play for ish. I like the idea of trading for Jackson and Bogut. Jackson is my favorite player outside of the Rockets, BUT: 1. He is unhappy in Mil 2. He can score at will 3. He is an underrated passer and defender 4. He adds toughness 5. He can be a douchebag, but Houston has done well with difficult personalities. Bogut would be a nice look when healthy.
