I can't forget watching that press conference after we won, but someone mentioned our turnover numbers and JVG got real pissed and stormed off. It as like a WTF and LOL simultaneously, my brain got really confused.
Im sorry but the excuse JVG "didn't have talent" is his fans trying to rewrite history. First off, Mark Jackson, Charlie Ward, C.Weatherspoon, Mark Brunson & Ryan Bowen were players JVG WANTED here. He selectively chose those guys to play here. He trusted those players more than other guys with obviously more talent. He was never handi-capped with these washed up guys as people like you would like to lead on. He just couldn't maximize talent due to zero movement on offense and one guy making ALL the plays (Tmac). He wanted to slow the pace of the game which benefited players like Mark Jackson
Head wasn't even there in '04-05. The other 2 guys were good role players that year. You could also say go win a championship with Chucky Brown and Pete Chilcutt getting significant PT.
It doesn't matter who we like. It's who Les likes, and right now, he likes McHale, though we'll see if that's still the case after this season.
I would definitely pass the first round with two superstars. When will the Rockets have two superstars again?
My vote goes to JVG...the series where we won 2 in Dallas on the road was our best chance at making a run Too bad JVG couldn't close that series...rockets future could have been very different
I voted Adelman but could just have easily voted Van Gundy. It's basically a tie with Adelman being the better on one end and JVG on the other. Each of them (and Rudy T) have been legendarily great coaches and each of them has been unceremoniously shown the door by that ass Les Alexander. McHale may prove to be a great coach, but that's not what he was hired to be. He was hired to be a yes man.
FU<FONT>CK McFail. An absolutely idiotic coach who has cost us several games already this season. I would take Adelman. He did wonders with a 6'6" Center and the 3 non defenders in the starting five.
Adelman has the same record... slightly worse @Minnesota with better talent... and the last two years ... also 9th place McHale does things differently but the team is still overachieving. not much difference there.
Over the course of a shortened season in Minny? Maybe. But I'm pretty sure Adelman was the winningest coach in Rockets history.
True. just saying that everyone is depending on talent. This year's talent level.... I am embarrassed.... actually no lottery pick in the rotation
