I've only had a chance to pop it in and watch around 15 minutes but it looks fantastic. This is probably the first time I've ever bought a movie/tv series without having watched a minute prior. I'm looking forward to getting through the set.
The extras are really well done on this blu ray set and the picture quality is pretty much perfect. For those who are looking for legal streaming sources, it is available on itunes and amazon on demand streaming. If you have a blu ray player though the picture quality and extras make it the way to go, especially while it is on sale at best buy and amazon for $35.

Have free hbo for the next three months and caught the marathon of GoT saturday night...watched 4 so far and man, what a great fkn show...will hopefully get to finish them in the next couple of days...
Just finished "A Dance With Dragons" last night. Overall, it was great! The Arya story arc has some of my favorite chapters in the series. Spoiler Damn... I did not see Jon Snow's murder coming at all (I guess he was murdered -- maybe not and just hurt badly??). I was disappointed in how Danaerys became a bit of an idiot in this one, although the ending indicates that she may redeem herself going forward. I was to see the badass fire and blood Danaerys, not the flighty, bubbly, teenage girl.

i doubt it when it comes to jon snow...that they would end his arc like that...without having exerted some influence on the others because his story has so much potential.
Spoiler Littlefinger is sent to negotiate with Renly's camp, but since he isn't a point of view character we never see any of what he actually does there, and he doesn't arrive until after the Catelyn has left and the shadow in the tent happens.
OMG!!!! To borrow words from the Hound "7 Hells!" BTW, if you have not read SoS absolutely do not click on this damn spoiler!!! Spoiler they killed them all! I know Arya is still alive because she has more chapters in the book but I can't believe they just Killed all the Northman! Did Robs orders to legitimize John Snow and make him the next Lord of Winterfell get sent out before he was killed? I'm assuming Edmure is dead as well. I guess the Blackfish is in charge of Riverrun now, I wonder what his response will be. I'm assuming he and Riverrun are alone now so attacking the twins can not be an option. The last thing I've read is Arya kitting hit in the back of the head with an axe. I just can't read anymore now until I've had time to process all of this but damn!
...and there we have it. Fun times, huh? We all hope that the TV series will run at least through that event. I mean, it was fun just seeing the reaction of folks to Ned's death in the series. When this event happens, the TV fans will either mutiny and stop watching or be so hooked that HBO will have to pick up the rest of the books.
I've just been sitting here dwelling over it. I plan to pick the book up again sometimes tonight because I'm really anxious to see what happened to Arya but I need some time to absorb what has happened. I'm sure Bran, John, sansa and Rikon are all bond to since that something really bad has happened to their pack. The last few chapters of SoS have absolutely turned the volume way up on this series. Starting with Dani and the Unsullied to Bran / John and the widlings to Arya / Rob / Cat and what just happened. If the series makes it this far I can't imagine everyone not being hooked.

I really like the actress they got to play Margaery Tyrell. She was great as Anne Boleyn in the Tudors.
