Yes, I had a feeling that Linsanity would come to an end as soon as Carmello and STAT returned to the lineup.

    Melo sucks.
Dude forces everything way too much.
Stat, he's just a lost cause.

Say what you will but Jeremy Lin has been a model of consistency until now... when Melo and Stat return to the lineup.

It was going to end when the Knicks started playing quality teams. With or without Melo & Amare, trips to Fantasy Island always come to an end.

i think they wouldve only lost 3 of the 5 if melo and stat were out. and lin would still be putting up 20+ ppg and near 10 apg ... with 6+ turnovers

    5-18 with 6 turnovers...

Lin can do no wrong, I guess.

Linsanity has indeed ended and while strength of schedule (SOS) has definitely contributed to deepening the Knicks problems, attributing their losses and conversely the Knicks win streak, solely on SOS is ignorant of the fact that the Knicks have also lost 3 of their last 4 games against teams BAD teams, ie the Cavs, Nets, Bucks & Hornets.

The much bigger problem (than strength of schedule) facing the Knicks is how to incorporate Melo and Anthony while maintaining an acceptable level of defense. It is obvious that the current Knicks defense w/melo &amare is vastly inferior to the unit which ran off 7 straight wins. At this point it almost doesnt even matter if their opposition is a bad team like the Bucks or a team like the Spurs, either way their defense is getting destroyed and surrendering 100+ points easy.

If the Knicks have any hope of restarting any kind of sanity, they are going to need to quickly repair their broken defense thats given up an avg of 111 points per game their last 5 games. With Melo, Amare and Dantoni leading the way, it doesn't looking promising, but perhaps with Chandler, Lin, Shumpert & Jeffries it could happen.

nobody is saying melo sucks. but the team chemistry has definitely suffered since the 2 stars returned. lin makes mistakes but he seems to know how to pull out wins better than melo or stat. of course he doesnt do it single handedly like those two are capable of doing but he knows how to beat out at least the teams they are supposed to beat (with a squad not including melo).

Linsanity definitely cooling off. He'll even out, but he's been playing with a bullseye on his back, and guys are now able to see film on him.

Based on what...a hot 2 week stretch against mostly poor teams when folks didn't have much film on him or time to gameplan for him? Could it just be possible that teams now have a chance to plan for him and expose the areas that he needs improvement on?

There are too many other factors (SOS, time to plan) for me to conclude that he knows how to pull out wins better than Melo or Amare, dudes who have been getting it done for seasons.

Definitely agree. A lot of those games during the winning streak were won because the Knicks played seriously good defense in the fourth quarter, often keeping teams under 20 points.

With Chandler and Jeffries missing games, and Stoudemire forced to play center, they are getting killed defensively, especially at the end of games.
