It's always refreshing to see what you are listening to. I knew George Russell pretty well before he died. He was a very, very eccentric person to say the least... but an AWESOME person to be around. A lot of energy It's really sad what he went through with alzheimer's though. It was hard to see him like that
Grimes - Visions Esperanza Spalding - Radio Music Society Bruno Coulais - Coraline Soundtrack Yeah, I'm looking forward to this album. Her voice is somewhere between soothing and haunting--it's so great.
Trust- TRST Really excited to see them in a few days during SXSW. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/8TtL3AyBHP0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

On Indie Rock - try Grizzly Bear, Animal Collective, Deerhunter, etc. Mr. Brightside can tell you a lot more in that genre. Neon Indian is not bad when it comes to electronic and indie. M83 is awesome electronically but I would not necessarily classify his stuff as "soft". You might want to check out ambient music like Brian Eno and Vangelis.
Thanks - that's cool that you knew him. I plan on getting more of his stuff (I only have 2 albums). I really found it interesting that on Jazz for the Space Age he had Paul Bley AND Bill Evans playing (I think on only 1 track, though). I really, really like the Electric Sonata for Souls Loved by Nature.
I always come back to this... <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/XextZzt920E" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
you've been on an impressive run through reggae land Manny Ramirez! i like a lot of Bovell's (Blackbeard) stuff but can never forgive him for the Lovers Rock sub-genre. on the UK reggae scene tho gotta respect his dub "bonafides". Count Ossie & The Mystic Revelation Of Rastafari - Grounation
