I imagine it's because he's a black hole on offense that would rather throw up a terrible shot over a triple team than pass it out to a wide open shooter.
It's sad that people 'blame' Morey for not trading Yao, matter of fact, it's an insult to Yao as a person and as a basketball player. However, you can definitely blame Morey for: A) Not immediately re-signing Mutombo for the 08-09 season which arguably would've led to more wins and definitely a more stable locker room. B) Not aggressively pursuing a potential replacement for him before 09-10 or 08-09 for that matter. Instead he brought that australian guy C) Not having a proper back up since Deke left for 09-10, 10-11 and 11-12. The only reason we have Sam is because of Leslie.
Morey's plan the next five days: A) try to "rent" for dwight by using our assets including Lowry. Orl trades us Dwight and Hedo. Orl trades Nelson to LA for trade exception and picks. B) if no dwight, then trade with bucks for bogut/jackson package C) Gasol but no Lowry D) Kaman for 09 expirings and 2nd rounder E) put up poster of Stern for target practice.
Is he >>>>>>>>>>>>>> to Chase then? If you think Bud would/should start over Parsons in any line up, I can officially disregard anything else you say for the duration of my day.
Example? Philly. Turner/Iggy/Parsons or Turner/Iggy/Chase ? I would choose the latter because the first lineup kills spacing. Doug Collins agrees because he bring Thadeus Young off the bench despite being clearly better than Meeks. To make it easier for you to understand, Thad >>>>>>>>>>>>> Meeks. Basketball is not just about having the best 5 individual players on the floor. It's also about chemistry and how each player complements the other. Parsons is a better player than Chase, but the difference is not to the extent where Parsons over Chase is like choosing LeBron vs Gee. Parsons is an average starter. Chase is tad below average starter material. Also, it's not a matter of who starts as much as who finishes games. You're welcome.
Let me help you out just a little bit... Thaddeus Young tends to play the 4. Jodie Meeks tends to play the 2. The reason for starting one over the other is a matter of position and match-ups, not who you personally believe is better (the Magic didn't start Marcin Gortat when he was there even though he was better than some of their other starters because he was redundant). The idea that the first line-up you threw out there is a floor spacing killer is laughable for the reason that floor spacing is more of a function of where the players locate themselves on the floor rather than if they shoot 30% vs. 40% (as long as they shoot the open shot). If you'll notice, Chandler is very good at getting in the weak side deep corner. Watch any high school or college game and you'll quickly see that the kids just don't know how to locate themselves on the court and it leads to cluster ****s that kill movement. Matt Bonner still gets open 3s every game, because help side D will almost always protect lane/rim first, no matter how good the shooter is. Chase and Chandler are both solidified 3s in almost any rotation, with Chandler being the more capable of the two to bump to 4 in a small line-up (due to defense). The rest of his bona fides should be evident even to the casual fans. The only thing that Chase is better than Chandler at is shooting the 3 ball. smh
