LA is trading Gasol just to stop Houston from calling. They are sick of hearing Morey's voice...

Wouldn't it be funny if they sent him back to Memphis for nothing?

well, no matter who the Lakers get, the people here will say they made out because Stern loves the Lakers. Even though he proved that theory wrong with the Chris Paul veto.

This was just my worst case scenario.

Unless the team is on Howard's shortlist, I wouldn't think they'd pay much for a rental player...unless you think you can also get DWill. The opposite is also true except you will get much less for rental offers on DWill. Again this was my worst case scenario but I don't think any team is going to pony up more than Pau for a possible rental of DWill. And IF (big IF) that did happen and Orlando got the "I'm gone" word, I can't see any GM paying much for Howard unless he was on the short list because he truly would be a rental with little hope for resigning. ORL would bail of course and getting Bynum and parts (though they don't have that many other than some late #1s...ie meh...) is probably as good as they're going to get.

Now maybe Morey would pony up that package thinking along the same lines...get DWill first and clear space in the hopes of Howard following. And personally I would take that Rocket package over Pau but the Nets owner may take star name over moneyball players and building a Pau/Lopez front line is somewhat impressive if Lopez can come back.

Don't think this Roland Lazenby is very credible.

To pair up Marc with Bynum? Makes no sense.

He said that Pau Gasol was gone, even though there wasn't even a deal in place much less the deal done.

Any news on this trade? Are we still getting Pau Gasol? Is it a done deal? Or likely will?

Why would you give up two starters for one? Then, whos going to replace Martin's scoring??? Please tell me you don't believe Lee's going to play starter minutes and give us 20+ a night:rolleyes:

Gasol: "I said to myself, if there was anything serious about to happen, I would get a call from a significant person and I didn't get that," Gasol said. "Anybody can start up rumors. They start up small and they come out big. I can't control certain things and I'm just going to continue to do my job as best as I can. The less I hear about it, the better, but March 15 is around the corner, so one way or another I'll be here or I'll be … who knows?"

well if courtney just makes 10 ppg he beats out martin because he is actually guarding his guy on defense.

that's actually the biggest myth among martin haters. that he gives up as much as he score. Prior to this year, he outscored his matchup by an average of seven points. But I ageree he must be traded.

The guy just wanted to get his name out there. I noticed this rumor hit about every sports site/message board within a day..and his twitter followers jumped up. He didn't even provide a source or anything..just "I heard..."

If you look at his tweeting history, he posts a TON every day. He has not said a word since he made this report.

Likely, what he'll do is come out once Gasol is traded and say, "See!" ... but we already knew that Gasol was heavily rumored to be on the block. He was already dealt once and we've been talking about the strong possibility he'd be dealt again ever since then.

He gained over 3,000 Twitter followers (a roughly 50% increase) since this report. I hope people aren't planning on praising him if Gasol does get dealt. You can't write "It seems we'll soon be getting news that Gasol has been traded. No details confirmed, but he's apparently gone" and then watch Gasol play two more games in the same jersey.

Yea, the fact that he didn't come out and admit a mistake is crazy.
