Dude we are going to finish 9th again, big deal. Would be way better if Lowry's team had a worse record.
Including this game??? If I recall the last two possessions when they were down by 1 Lin locked down Jennings twice and he had 5 fouls before Amare/Melo didn't box out...
If you watch the games, I wouldn't really say against Lin, but more like against the putrid Knicks paint defense. I'm looking at you Amare. It's impossible with the pick-and-rolls and lack of handchecking to keep a point guard from getting past the defender, but it's up to the bigs to guard the ballhandler for a while until the point guard can recover. Amare, and to a lesser extent Novak and Melo, have been just awful at pick and roll defense. The Knicks would be better off playing Jeffries the most minutes at PF imo.
Lin played pretty solid D on Jennings the whole game and made him take or make some tough shots. He lock down on Jennnings forcing him into 2 heaves but the other plays were able to get offensive rebounds and put backs because no one else was blocking out.
Jennings played better against Lin than he plays during the season... 25/10/5 is a pretty good line with 50% shooting. Plus Lin had his usual 5 turnovers.
And vice versa. Seriously, the same stupid arguments people use to bash Lowry are being used bash Lin.
I'm not talking about the season, I used those stats for this game only.. Learn to stay within topic son...
This. Although Lin has blame too- he goes underneath the screen and gets stuck a lot of times. He also gets stuck ball watching and lose the weakside man sometimes. But the last two possessions where he played absolute lockdown D (no exaggeration either) on Jennings-one of the quickest/fastest cat in the game- showed he has the ability too. Haters need to stop blaming him on D everytime an opposing PG has a big game. Those guys use screens too and most of the time it should be on the man covering the screener that should be responsible or the weakside help- aka Amare. Amare is just horrible as ever on D- and might have regressed even more. His help D consists on just pretending to step over on help D and pretend to take a charge. No attempt to oppose the PG in the lane whatsoever.
By that asinine reasoning, then Westbrook must be horrible on D since Parker had his best game against them. Good try b**** ass hater
Wait, are you saying PGs don't go off against Lin? Last 7 games Jennings - 25/10/5 Tony Parker 32 - 6 off 19 shots Jason Kidd - 15 points (season high)/Roddy B had 18 points and a very good game too Rondo - 18/17/20 enough said Irving - 22/7 just above his average but still an above average game for him Jeff Teague - 18 points (averages 12 PPG) Deron Williams - 38 points
No one is saying that - the point is that you are focusing too much on Lin and not enough on Knick's team D. r****ds also use this as an argument against Lowry, whenever a PG does well its always Lowry's fault
