Adrian Woj: Rockets aggressive on Gasol

What are we going to do with Gasol? By the time we get a legit team around him he's a fossil. I'd rather gut the roster for Howard. Seriously if I'm Morey I literally offer Orlando whatever they want and IF he comes 1 of 2 things happens.

1) You convince him to stay b/c you have enough money to max him and bring in Deron Williams and you're set for the next 5 years.

2) He bolts after the season and you bottom out, then we can finally rebuild via the draft.

 

We're a legit team right now with a core of Lowry + Gasol and our cast of great roleplayers around them. "Legit" in the sense that we can be 5th seed or a bit better, not in the sense that we are among the top favorites to win a title.

 

all the talk about Gasol being soft and he comes out with a clutch blocked shot. Not the first time. We need this guy.

 

We've been hearing from a lot of "sources" recently.

We'll see whether or not either one of these guys is part of any deal. I still doubt the Lakers trading Gasol is imminent. Kupchak is too conservative to just lay down for that.

 

Also remember....

After what happened between these teams both getting screwed on a deal earlier this year, the last thing in the world that anyone wants is any sort of premature leakage to "sources" who will quickly go public with anything and potentially put this deal at risk the same way the other deal was placed at risk.

This time all the "t's" are going to get crossed before any of the genius "sources" are briefed on anything real.

 

Good and cold outside, thought I'd be able to snuggle up under the covers and get a good night's rest. It will be hard to sleep tonight now!

 

I know there will be more moves but Lowry, Lee, Parsons, Patterson or Gasol, Gasol or Sammy would be a much better starting five.

And we still have so many trading pieces to bolster the team.

 

It's not really his call if the new Buss family ownership is pushing to cut as much cap as possible.

 

The offense in that line up would only be from Gasol and Lowry. Lowry's an inconsistent shooter to add to that problem.

hope rockets can give williams the max this summer if that's the case.

 

If we're keeping Lowry, why not send benchwarmer Bud to Cleveland, Sessions (who's on the block) with Scola and Thabust (Lakers wanna save $$$) and the NYK 1st rounder to the Lakers, Pau to us?

That's what I envision. 3-team trade to bring in a Sessions to the deal. OR to bring Sessions to us, Lowry to the Lakers.

 

Can we speculate that this is a 3-team trade bc DM likes them? If so, I wonder what the other team will be...

 

I don't think that's the case. They did sign a 3 billion dollar tv deal last year after all.
