" With great power ( Dwight Howard ), comes great responsibility ( Hedo Turkoglu )"

    Rumor: Orlando wants Lowry.

Houston has continued to aggressively probe the Lakers on a potential Pau Gasol trade, but there's no deal close, league sources tell Y!

Apparently it was Lazenby who said Gasol was already traded. Other guys including Woj are saying no.

If we havent aleady mortgaged our future for Pau.. I still think Bogut is a great option..

    from TrueHoop through espn...

    2. Bogut No Longer Untouchable
NBA front-office sources say that the Bucks, who have always swatted away trade inquiries for Andrew Bogut in the past, are for the first time listening to pitches for the 7-foot Australian, who is said to be intrigued by the prospect of a fresh start elsewhere after more than two years of injury misfortune and teamwide tension under coach Scott Skiles over the past two disappointing seasons.

This development, though, comes with a crucial caveat:
Sources say that the Bucks, at least for the moment, are insisting that any team that trades for Bogut take on the disgruntled Stephen Jackson as part of the trade.

And that's what is bound to keep Bogut in Milwaukee past Thursday's 3 p.m. trade deadline more than his latest health setback, after he suffered a fractured left ankle against Houston on Jan. 25 after landing on the Rockets' Samuel Dalembert in the lane.

Jackson's feelings about Skiles and desire to leave Brewtown are known worldwide, but finding a team willing to take on the outspoken 33-year-old when he's guaranteed just over $10 million next season is problematic to say the least.

"The price (for Bogut) is high," one interested suitor told ESPN.com this week.

Kmart/JHill/Thabeet/pick for Bogut/SJax... works on trade machine...

    so does:
KMart/Sam for Bogut/SJax... given that Bogut is still gonna be out a few weeks, that shoud get our pickback for the next draft...lol

Sorry kjayp but Bogut is Mr. Glass, not worth what it would take to get him. Pau and Howard are sure things, Bogut is not.

    Rockets get Howard and Smith
Magic get Martin Hill Patterson and Bud
Hawks get Scola Williams and Dragic.

I am sure we would have to throw in Parsons instead of Bud, and i am sure we would have to throw some draft picks there way, but we would have 3 good players to work with and Having Josh Smith on the team most likely would have Howard stay with us. Not sure WHAT atlanta wants for Josh smith, but a guy can dream can't he?! :)

Obviously Howard is option A - make it happen - great - wouldnt hold my breath..

Pau's contract is poison.... 18.7M+/yr to a 31, 32 and then 33 yr od Pau... maybe if you were saddling up to win a champiuonship now...

Bogut has had injuries... but its been freak stuff - broken arm, fractured ankle (no surgery).... it isnt like his knees are shot.. or has no acl... its a gamble - but thats why he's attainable..

Why LAL does this: Lowry + Scola is their desired deal for Gasol. Budinger sweetens it so that they package their low 1st as well. They don't really believe they'll wind up at #20 anyway. They think they'll be around #25 when it's all said and done... they believe getting Lowry + Scola + Budinger will put them back on top as championship contenders.

Why Minny does this: They want Gasol to play next to Rubio, and I'm sure Adelman would love his boy Martin back. I think they'd be thrilled to build around Love, Rubio, Gasol, and Martin and would give up a lot to attain that scenario. All that said this is probably the weakest link in the trade so who knows.

    Why Orlando does this:

    • 2011 second overall pick with star potential
    • Cheap young center producing like an all-star this season
    • 2010 14th overall pick with strong roleplayer potential and maybe a bit more
    • 2011 14th overall pick who hasn't played but still has strong upside
    • Two mid-first round draft picks, one of them with a slight chance at being top 10 lottery

Even for the best center in the game, this deal has to be a no-brainer, right? Nobody ever gets a return like this. It's pretty sick and gives them an instant rebuild and lots of young guys who will continue to improve for the next 5 years.

Last but not least, why we do this:

We don't unless Howard will agree to exercise his player option. If he does:

    Barea/Dragic
    Lee/Dragic
    Parsons/Webster
    Hill/Dalembert
    Howard/Dalembert

Next season, our only contract commitments are Howard, Barea, and Parsons ($24.5M) and we have cap space for two max contracts. If we fail at signing D-Will, we go after Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Steve Nash, etc on 1-2 year contracts to go ring-hunting, and are set up for tank mode the season after when Howard leaves.

Dalembert and Patterson for McGee and Blatche

Rockets get younger and more talented. Wizards pick up expirings while ridding themselves of Blatche and McGees stupidity.

    C: McGee/Hill/Smith/Thabeet
    PF: Scola/Blatche/Morris
    SF: Parsons/Budinger/Williams
    SG: Martin/Lee
    PG: Lowry/Dragic/Flynn

    Revisiting Andrew Bogut Trade possibilities...

Its being reported that Andrew Bogut has requested a trade from the Bucks, so I say now is the time to pounce!~

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wizards-insider/post/wizards-willing-to-trade-javale-mcgee/2012/03/09/gIQAHmoZ1R_blog.html

He still has multiple years on his contract, and a lot of his injuries have been freak injuries. So with that said I believe we should make him our prime target.

Rockets get: Andrew Bogut, Stephen Jackson

Bucks get: Kevin Martin, Samuel Dalembert, Patrick Patterson and Chase Budinger, NY 1st rd pick, Minn 2nd rd pick
    .

    Rockets Roster:
    Kyle Lowry / Goran Dragic
    Courtney Lee / Terrence Williams
    Stephen Jackson / Chandler Parsons
    Luis Scola / Marcus Morris
Andrew Bogut / Jordan Hill/ Greg Smith

Bogut is out for the rest of the season... he's not a deadline deal for the Rockets who think of themselves as playoff contenders. It's possible he could be revisited in the offseason. I think his talent level is overrated though.

    Trade 1) Dalembert+Patterson+Rights to Lull+MIN 2nd----> Smith

Reasoning: The Hawks can't give up Smith without getting back frontcourt help. Dalembert can push Horford to his natural PF role. Plus Patterson is a decent prospect recovering from surgery. If Dally isnt what they like he can be cut next year. They get a decent 2nd and the rights to a good international prospect that can replace Hinrich.

    Trade 2) All the 09ers Hill+Williams+Flynn+Thabeet+Future 2nd-----> Kaman

Reasoning; The incoming money for NOH is less than Kamans salary. They cut some bills for the other NBA owners. No one is offering anything for Kaman anyways might as well get a look at prospects w/ the first right of refusal and a 2nd rounder. And Stern owes us for his screw job.

    Trade 3) Scola----> Leuer+Livingston+Delfino+Unprotected MIL 1st

Reasoning: They put a good fit PF next to Bogut and Jennings without giving up anyone worthwhile or in the main rotation. I know we're getting nothing for Scola but all those guys are expiring and we're guaranteed a lottery pick between MIL and NYK. while they battle we win regardless.

Trade 4) HOU gives: Martin, Goki, Budinger
PHI gives: Turner, Brackins, Nocioni, 2nd
    POR gives: Batum, Felton

    HOU gets: Batum Felton Turner
    PHI gets: Martin
POR gets: Goki, Budinger, Brackins, Nocioni, Morris, 2nd

Reasoning: This ones a little weak. I was basing this off the fact that Felton and the coach were butting heads and that POR might wanna reload and stay flexible for the future. All of the guys are expirings and POR gets a solid hand at the PG theyve been lacking plus a young prospect. Bud and Nocioni provide what Batum leaves behind.

If Por says no. then I would still offer the same pieces and try to get Batum and Felton for it. If needed I would add the latest 1st round pick. If its still a no go just offer Martin and Bud for Phillys package.

    Potential Final team:

    Kaman/Smith
    Jsmoove/Morris
    Parsons/Turner
    Batum/Lee
    Lowry/Felton

Under contract for next season (hoopshype):
Jsmoove with his trade kicker at 14784000
    Parsons 850000
    Turner 5293080
    Batum 3,166,230
    Lee 3221933
    Lowry 5750000

-If salary cap stays at 58, the cap room is around 24 Million before the 3 cap holds.
-With said space you can make a huge push for Howard since his best friends Lee and Jsmoove are here. Good big man coach and Hakeem.
-He would still be the alpha like he wants
-Sick defense and shooting still around him.
-Can get his max contract since we can sign him outright. Using that leverage. Offer a SnT with 2 of the 3 picks or Morris. This gives him max raises.

    If Howard signs outright:
    Howard/G. Smith/15th pick(if here)
    Smith/14th pick (if here)/Donuts
    Parsons/Turner
    Batum/Lee
    Lowry/13th pick(if here)

Now Batum and Lee's numbers are cap holds and may get bigger contracts to match if so we would have to give up the 1sts to maintain cap space to sign Howard.

If Howard decides not to come you can still throw huge money at guys like Lopez, Hibbert, and Hawes. Or you can split the cap space pick up those guys and other players to fill out roster. The fact remains the roster and their contracts are insanely flexible with 3 1st rounders. You could try to run after DWILl and Howard in sNts and if strike outs occur you have enough space to fill the C position

Well I disagree I think his talent level is underrated. When healthy he can handle his own against any center in the NBA, including Howard.

Also the Rockets have said that their making moves based on what's best for the team in the long run, and adding a lottery pick and a healthy Andrew Bogut next season is better in the long run.

Certainly better then just simply renting a player, who has no intentions of staying here in the long run, and have nothing to show for it!

That's an interesting trade. Marc Stein did say that the Wizards would package McGee with Blatche if they can find a taker for Blatche's contract (http://espn.go.com/nba/dailydime/_/page/dime-120309-10/weekend-dime-latest-trade-deadline-chatter).

McGee could become a franchise center under McHale's tutelage, but trading for a bonafide knucklehead in Blatche and the remaining 4 years on his contract is a tough price to pay.

Maybe they could make this trade without giving up Patterson, then it would be more palatable. Maybe Dalembert/Dragic/Draft Pick instead? The wizards need a backup point guard desperately, and Dalembert would plug the hole left by McGee.

Portland seems to be in full tailspin mode. I'm sure we could get Wallace for nothing.
