I wonder if this was a kerfuffle, or if the rumors have legs. Maybe we do a threeway with LA and the T-Puppies? I could see that happening. Pure speculation, but Pekovic would look good in a Rockets uniform. Clearly, I'm not the only one pondering that.
Neither side is going to say anything until it's done, trades leaking out is the first step to killing a deal. I wonder if Morey is thinking: Get Gasol in hopes that if a trade with Magic happened it would convince Howard to stick around?
wait so nothing is happening today? <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/M5QGkOGZubQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
The info leaking out is more than likely coming out now in order to force other deals into happening or not happening. Mainly, Dwights situation. If leaks come out this early before the deadline, its usually to send a message to other teams.
I don't think Morey would give up Lowry for Gasol. You don't trade a rising star on a cheap contract for a declining one on an expensive contract. Lowry is untouchable unless it's for Howard.
I have lost count of how many false Gasol Alarms we have had..... After the failed trade, it is just torture.
If Morey could acquire Pau without giving up Martin or Lowry it would be a miracle. Because then you could flip Kmart for something. Maybe Melo? Big 3 = Lowry, Melo, Pau I could see some offensive struggle, but in a half-court, grind it out playoff series, that'd be one hell of a Big 3 to do battle with.
Probably, and many think it'll be when the deadline looms, but someone has to make the first big deal. Might as well be us. Unlikely, but I'm sick of the players on the court with their heads half on the deadline, and half on the game. Five games worth of tired.
THAT'S what I'm sayin! 3rd wheel getting us Pekovic is far more enticing when u go beyond the hype and actually run the numbers and start factoring in salary and moves to compliment....
My issue with this whole thing is this- The Rockets desperately need a third team to be involved that has mutual interest, and I have severe doubts in Minnesota being that team... mainly for competetive reasons. They want Martin, no doubt, but not at the expense of building up teams they will be competing with for playoff spots for years to come. Hopefully Im wrong about it, and it is KAHN..., but still I dont think Minnesota wants to help facilitate a trade that works in Houstons favor especially when they are the second favorite to get Gasol themselves. -I think the Rockets and Lakers are calling other teams about being a facilitator, and the other teams are leaking info out. -Either that or this is all smoke and mirrors in order to force other teams into making a decison on other deals that are contingent on the Lakers & possibly the Rockets. Most likely Lakers and Dwight.
Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA Lakers front office telling people that "nothing is happening" with Pau Gasol, league sources say. For now, anyway.
