It's golden state, have any of their moves made any sense? Wouldn't surprise me if their owners are pushing to "win now" and build a more attractive team.
That explains it never mind. Ok, well if it's not GSW and it's not us (I posted in the GARM thread why I don't think it's us) then who is it? It's not Orlando, because Lakers aren't trading for anything they have besides Howard. I doubt they would trade with the Nets. Ainge literally just said a deal was far from happening, but they could be code for the opposite, so who knows. I could see Minnesota trading for Gasol, trying to make the playoffs, giving Darko, Beasley, Ridnour. What are the odds the Pacers get involved? The Pacers could bring in a third team(Pistons,Bobcats) to give the Lakers a point guard, and the Pacers could give Hansborough. That seems like a fair deal.
LarryCoon Larry Coon If there -IS- a deal in place, it's not with Hou... RT @toambechor: if pau goes the houston and the lakers dont get lowry....
Mainly financial relief, they'd probably get a draft pick, and they'd open up space for Brandon Knight. Personally, I don't think Knight can fully develop with Stuckey on the team, but that's just me.
I would actually be distressed if we DIDN'T miss out on Pau Gasol. Maybe he is talented and would even help the team... but I can't help but loathe him on multiple levels. It would be like if we got Manu Ginobili a few years ago.
Same here, especially given the state of the team. I'd be alright if we got him from Memphis a couple of years ago, or if the West wasn't so competitive, or if we were bringing in another top big man or a superstar, but none of those things are happening. Gasol is the puzzle piece that looks like it might fit, until you try to put it in, and find out it doesn't fit.
Eh, it's just Pao, there's other fish out there. If I got to pick between Pao or Josh Smith I'd lean Josh Smith.(not that he's the #1 target, just an example)
LOL, knowing kahn you're probably right. Otherwise, I don't think he goes to Minny(unless they get for him only Beasley), since Pekovic seems to be fitting in well.
I wonder if LA would plant this information so they could try to initiate a pre end of trade season frenzy and then capitalize quickly.
Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA Lakers front office telling people that "nothing is happening" with Pau Gasol, league sources say. For now, anyway.
