Yeah, and if the Rockets could have combined Chuck Hayes and Luis Scola we'd have the best power forward in the league. Doesn't work like that Mr. Ware.
If they could both go out on the field as the #2 receiver, maybe there would be a chance one of them could get open. We'll just have to apply for an exemption from the 12-men on the field penalty.
I can pretty much guarantee Jacoby Jones won't be cut. That would be admitting a mistake (resigning him last year) and it usually takes the Texans more than one year to finally admit and/or correct a mistake. Too many examples of this to list.
The Browns (Chris, Kris) were each released after one poor season. It's not a matter of admitting a mistake, though. It's just simple salary cap economics. Tons of contracts are signed at "three years" when both parties know there's a chance they'll part ways after one. Jacoby and his agent got a big fat figure they could parade around last summer, but both knew the odds were good he'd be cut after one year unless his production saw a serious uptick. It didn't, and he'll be gone.
Man, I hope you're right. Re-signing him was the only move that kept last offseason from being literally perfect. No hyperbole.
Jacoby at that cap hit for next year has to be gone. They could sign Briesel and Dreessen for that amount and probably have a little change.

A few weeks back I was assigned to make a reel of every John Abraham and Cliff Avril professional sack, which leads me to believe we are preparing for a Williams departure. Jacoby was only paid a little over $500,000 of that 10.5 Million contract last season. If the Texans don't cut him, and decide to pay him the 5 M a year remaining, I will not be happy.
This nugget is great  [–]TexansAlchemistFire 1 point 4 days ago What's the deal with Brandon Harris? Was he injured? Is he not better than Kareem? Did they not want to do what they did to Kareem and just throw him in with the wolves as a rookie? [–]Texanspwylie 1 point 4 days ago He's slow.
