Eh, the current rules favor guards more than anything.

People should be making threads on how dominant Sacramento's mayor would be in today's league.

Oh, so those rules are going to stop the Sky Hook on Javelle McGee?

Only Lin's father--from that picture above--can stop Kareem the Cream.

Depends what team he played for. If he played for non-mega-market team like Houston, he'd probably average 5.6 ghost fouls per game and 2.8 illegal screens.

Any great center back then would have a field day today. They would dwarf Dwight's production.

" Wait a minute!!! I know you!!! You're Kareem Abdul Jabbar!!! You play basketball for the Los Angeles Lakers!!!!"

I would like to see a team of people who can do the sky hook... they should be as well known as the High Mile Club and shall be called "The Sky Hookers."

He would average 18.8 and 13 rebounds. He would be, like in his prime, bustin' his buns... every night...

Kareem's big advantage over someone like Yao was that he could go up to get a lob pass and then do something with the ball. That would prevent the easy fronting defense. I would be very surprised if a prime Kareem could be held below 25 and 11 with 3 or 4 blocks per game, and he could probably get quite a bit more.

i don't think he would. the league would come up with more rules that allow perimeter players to foul the crap out of the big men. while the perimeter players, you wouldn't even be allowed to breathe on them. wait..that has already happened.

I can see mr. suave, pat riley, getting fined a million for complaining to the refs.

Kareem is great no doubt! I loved his game but this is Cluthfans so lets add Dream and watch him dominate the NBA. Dream would tear Howard a new one while winning MVP and DPY.

Man I miss Dream and I am still heartbroken over what Sampson could have been.

That skyhook has to be one of the most (if not THE most) unguardable moves in basketball history. Not only that, but it doesn't seem terribly difficult to at least learn how to do (even if it would be difficult to do as automatically as he did it, or with as much range). Why have so few people even tried?

You forget the defensive 3-second rule was changed to allow more freedom in the lane. You don't think that favors Jabbar?

Kareem, way more skilled than Dwight Howard. Probably alot more smarter too.

He would eat Dwight Howard alive.

Similar to what he averaged then.

Accoridng to Dave Cowens (and I agree completely), players in the NBA are much better specimens today so they would have a little better shot at pushing Dwight off his spot.

Watching JaVale try and block the skyhook would be a lotta fun.
