    So again Pau is supposed to be the guy who who makes these last 2 seasons of barely missing the playoffs and Morey's stacking of assetts okay ? No way !!:mad:

    I see no way we could land Howard. We know the Lakers would trade Bynum. Pretend he's the worst possible player the Magic could get... that trumps any offer we could make. Easy as that.

    It's news, but I don't look at Ken Berger the same way I do Adrian Wojnarowski. I think he repeats a lot of stuff we know, but he's a bigger NBA reporter and talks to a lot of people.

    Except unlike Melo, Howard is actually a top 5 player who can carry a team of scrubs to the playoffs. He makes a team of decent roleplayers like the Rockets a championship contender.

    Which is why he'll likely cost more than Melo, and thus not end up going to a "rental" team, because the Rockets would effectively have to trade all their meaningful assets and end up with Dwight plus nobody.

    But I'm glad DM keeps casting that line ... never know when a fish might bite

    I've said this before, but the Rockets now have better assets and more of them than they have at any time since Yao went down. Don't give up hope.
